    Abstract: The band saw self cooling roller guide is defined by a main cylindrical roller body having a front portion of reduced diameter forming a collar for mounting coaxially around a shaft, and a flange extending from the rear portion thereof forming a shoulder. The thin rear edge of the band saw blade or ribbon abuts the flange which aids in aligning the blade, and the flat surface of the blade rests upon a plurality of grooves formed around the peripheral surface of the main roller body. A plurality of apertures such as louvered holes are formed in the face of the body and extend through the flange to funnel air their the rotating roller body cooling the roller, aligning the blade, and extending the wear thereof.
