Abstract: A formulation and process of preparing a functionalized-urethane alkyd resin, and a siliconized-urethane alkyd resin, is obtained from an alkyd based on semi drying/drying oils, or their fatty acids, having high iodine number of 120-170 (gm I2/100 gm), followed by grafting of epoxy-alkyl-alkoxy silane or silanol-functional silicone resin into an alkyd backbone. There is also subsequent urethanization of the organosilane grafted alkyd.
Abstract: A surfactant stabilized vinyl acetate ter-polymer based emulsion is provided comprising surfactant combination based freeze thaw stabilized vinyl acetate ter-polymer emulsion wherein said surfactant combination comprises non-ionic surfactant in combination with at least two polymerizable anionic reactive surfactants. A process of manufacturing the said emulsion is also provided, which process in comprising of selective sequence based steps and upon employing selective amounts of ingredients provides for said freeze thaw stable emulsion that is freeze thaw stable upto at least 5 cycles of freezing and thawing and yet maintains a particle size of 130-150 nm.

Abstract: Acrylic polyols comprising hydroxy functional acrylic copolymers/resin involving an acrylic backbone having modified castor oil sourced hydroxyl functionalities and synthesized by co-reacting modified hydroxy functional Castor Oil with variety of acrylic monomers, styrene or its derivatives and optionally hydroxyalkyl acrylates/methacrylates and ethylenic monomer through solution polymerization in presence of an initiator. The hydroxyl functionality is solely or partially imparted through renewable Castor Oil wherein the resins were synthesized at upto 100% solids and at hydroxyl values ranging from 25-150 (mg KOH/gm). The synthesized resins when cured with suitable polyisocyanates or amino resin cross-linkers provided tough, glossy and chemical & weather resistant coatings.

Abstract: A nano-particulate composition comprising nano-particulate capsule comprising at least one or more of hydrophobic core material and a polymeric shell comprising homo-polymer or copolymers of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomers or mixture thereof and having particle size distribution with an average article size in the range of 50 to 1000 nm is provided together with a controlled release delivery system comprising fragrance release delivery system involving said nano-particulate capsule water based emulsion and a process of manufacture thereof. Said delivery system provided is able to protect and release the fragrance in a controlled manner over a period of time. The controlled release fragrance delivery system of the present invention finds advantageous end use and application in fragranced consumer products formulations including water based coating/paint formulations and industrial formulations for use in industries including textile, cosmetics, soaps and detergents, leather industries.

Abstract: A synergistic emulsion polymer formulation adapted for facilitating achieving desired open time or wet edge time of any aqueous coating/paint composition on application to thus result in improved workability of the coating/paint composition. The synergistic emulsion polymer formulation and the coating/paint composition including the same comprises a latex polymer derived from copolymerization of mono-ethylenically unsaturated monomers. This in combination with select sorbitol ethoxylates esterified with fatty acids as an ingredient in the formulation/composition favors the slowing down of water evaporation from the composition considerably so that it remains amenable to touch up even after several minutes of application.
