Abstract: A method, system, and computer program for transferring a file or a a text message from a user to one or more recipients in a network. The method includes routing the data packet from the sending user to one or more recipients behind a firewall. The method includes segmenting a file into a series of file blocks. The method includes compressing and encrypting the file blocks. The method includes verifying the integrity of each file block. The method includes a self recovery process that comprises means for maintaining the current state of the transfer, means for resuming interrupted transfer automatically, and means for checkpoint restart. The method includes store and forward technique where the file is kept in the intermediate server and it is sent at a later time to the recipient.
