Abstract: A gasket system for an electromechanical locking device includes an inner gasket for the door facing surface of the device. The peripheral edge of the inner gasket and the peripheral edge of the housing of the device include complementary step features that interact to compress the peripheral edge of the inner gasket to seal the housing and mitigate air and water flow into the locking device. Some embodiments of the device include an āLā shaped front gasket that is compressed between stepped features of two portions of the housing to further mitigate air and water flow. Openings in the gaskets for lock components are circumferentially surrounded by compressible ribs that extend from the surface of the gasket. The compressible ribs are compressed against the surface of the door preventing air and water from migrating through openings.
Abstract: An access control system cooperates with a security system. The access control system may be used to control aspects of the security system and the security system may be used to control aspects of a lockset used to lock or unlock an access point (e.g., door). A user can choose to arm or disarm the security system via the access control system and similarly the user may choose to lock or unlock the access point via the security system.
Abstract: An electric door lock uses an interface to receive a credential to disengage a door lock. The interface is disposed on the user-graspable handle. The interface may comprise a sensor that receives a credential, such as an alphanumeric or symbolic code, a biometric input, or any appropriate combination of inputs. After a credential is entered, a gesture may be input to the interface to indicate that the credential is complete and prompt a controller to disengage the lock device. A gesture may comprise a motion or series or motions. The electric door lock also provides a control system that can be networked to allow remote entry of a credential. The control system can also control a plurality of door handles through a single door, or provide controls through remote devices.
Abstract: A progressive deadlatching arrangement for a deadbolt lock prevents an external force applied on the deadbolt from retracting the deadbolt or otherwise compromising a secured door. The progressive deadlatching arrangement prevents external forces from retracting the deadbolt while still allowing an authorized user to operate the deadbolt.
