Publication number: 20140131380Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to the substantially sterile transport of a substantially sterile substance using a liner-based assembly having an overpack and a flexible or semi-rigid liner disposed within the overpack configured for pressure dispense, and a connector securable to at least one of the overpack or liner. The connector may include a first port operably connected with a quick connector configured for substantially aseptic filling of the liner. The first port may be configured for substantially aseptic sealing after filling of the liner. The connector may be configured for substantially aseptic dispense of the substance of the liner via the first port after unsealing of the first port or via a second port. In some particular embodiments, the second port may be operably connected with a quick connector, and dispense of the substance of the liner occurs via the quick connector of the second port.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2013Publication date: May 15, 2014Applicant: ATMI PACKAGING, INC.Inventors: Vishwas PETHE, Jeff CRAIG, Don WARE

Publication number: 20130167960Abstract: A selectively closeable drain connector includes a hollow body or plunger moveable relative to a bore-defining drain flange. A locking element may be arranged to maintain the hollow body relative to the drain flange in one or more desired positions. At least one sealed jacket may extend between exterior portions of the drain flange and the hollow body to provide a barrier arranged to inhibit passage of contaminants to sealing surfaces along which the hollow body travels relative to the drain flange. The drain connector may be joined to a container, such as a tank, bag, vessel, or other receptacle for material storage and/or processing.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2011Publication date: July 4, 2013Applicants: ATMI PACKAGING, INC., ATMI BVBAInventors: Vishwas Pethe, Matthew Kusz, Steven Vanhamel, Sven Stiers

Patent number: 8282269Abstract: A vessel in which a fluid is received and agitated by using an internal fluid-agitating element driven by a non-contact coupling with a motive device external to the vessel. In one aspect, the vessel is a bag including a first receiver for receiving and holding a fluid-agitating element at a home location. The first receiver may be in the form of an inwardly-projecting post having an oversized portion for capturing the fluid-agitating element, but various other forms are disclosed. In another aspect, the vessel or bag further includes a second receiver for receiving a portion of an external structure, such as a motive device, and aligning the vessel relative thereto. Related methods are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2009Date of Patent: October 9, 2012Assignee: ATMI Packaging, Inc.Inventor: Alexandre N. Terentiev

Patent number: 8182137Abstract: A vessel receives and agitates a fluid using an internal fluid-agitating element driven by an external motive device. In one aspect, the vessel is a bag including a first receiver for receiving and holding a fluid-agitating element at a home location. The first receiver may be in the form of an inwardly-projecting post having an oversized portion for capturing the fluid-agitating element, but various other forms are disclosed. Use of this feature in completely rigid vessels where the fluid-agitating element is free of direct attachment from a first receiver having an oversized portion is also disclosed. In another aspect, the vessel or bag further includes a second receiver for receiving a portion of an external structure, such as a motive device, and aligning the vessel relative thereto.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2007Date of Patent: May 22, 2012Assignee: ATMI Packaging, Inc.Inventor: Alexandre N. Terentiev
