  • Patent number: 10431948
Abstract: A rotary connector includes a rod-shaped rotating side electrode rotatably supported by an external shell case and a fixed side electrode supported by the external shell case. Rotating side electrode and the fixed side electrode are disposed so that one end parts of the electrodes face each other spaced apart to form a clearance therebetween, the rotary connector further has a cylindrical liquid impregnated member, disposed so as to surround the outer peripheral surface close to the one end part of the fixed side electrode, that covers the clearance formed between the fixed side electrode and the rotating side electrode from outer peripheral sides of the fixed side electrode and the rotating side electrode, and the region formed by one end part of the rotating side electrode, one end part of the fixed side electrode, and the inner peripheral surface of the liquid impregnated member is filled with liquid metal.

  • Patent number: 5826324
Abstract: A flat type commutator is provided which secures fixing of carbon (graphite) commutator pieces to both metal plates with terminals attached thereto for connecting winding and electrically insulating support, and which can be manufactured easily and at a low manufacturing cost. The flat type commutator has a brush slide-contact surface which is perpendicular to the axial direction of a rotor, wherein a plurality of commutator pieces (3), which are mutually isolated by slits (4), are directly fixed to an electrically insulating support (1), and a metal plate (5) for connecting the commutator pieces, each having terminals (6) for connecting windings is fixed on the outer peripheral surface of each commutator piece (3) which is parallel with the axial direction of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5447399
Abstract: A bolt, rivet or similar fastener for fastening separate structural parts has a shank, and a tubular cover member covering at least part of the periphery of the shank for preventing a stress from concentrating in part of the shank. The cover member is made of a material having greater deformability or greater elastic strain energy than the material constituting the shank or is made of a material having a relatively small coefficient of friction. When vibration or impact acts on the fastener, the cover member disperses the resulting stress to protect the shank against breakage.

  • Patent number: 4698538
Abstract: A dc brushless electromagnetic rotary machine, such as a dc electric motor or a dc electrical generator, includes a rotor having a permanent magnet which has the entirety of its cylindrical outer peripheral surface magnetized in the same polarity. The outer surface faces an annular armature core fixed on the inner cylindrical surface of a casing frame forming a stator of the machine. In the structure, the magnetic flux emanating from the rotor magnet passes the armature core and returns to the magnet from a position other than the armature core. The armature core is provided with coil windings on its cylindrical inner surface facing substantially the one surface portion of the permanent magnet. A portion of the coil windings is covered with a shielding member in which portion current is conducted which induces magnetic flux in a direction opposite to that of the magnetic flux generated from the permanent magnet.

The armature core is provided with coil windings wound thereon in such a manner that a portion of the windings is included in the air gap formed between the rotor magnet and the cores. Additional magnetic flux induced in response to current flowing over the armature windings causes the main magnetic flux generated from the rotor magnet to be turned in the same way irrespective of the angular position of the rotor.
