  • Patent number: 6896476
Abstract: A fan includes a casing having a bottom wall and a shaft mounted inside the casing for rotatably supporting a rotary blade assembly comprised of blades inside the casing and above the bottom wall with the blade assembly being axially movable with respect to the shaft. A levitation device includes magnets mounted to the blades of the blade assembly and a magnetic field generator mounted in the bottom wall and opposing the magnets of the blades. The magnet field generator is controlled by a control circuit to selectively generate a magnetic field that interacts with the magnets of the blades to induce expelling force acting upon the blade assembly to axially move the blade assembly a predetermined distance away from the bottom wall. The magnitude of the expelling force can be changed by controlling the magnetic field generator whereby the distance between the blades and the bottom wall can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 6876546
Abstract: A case for an electronic device includes a transparent component, a main case body, and a light-transmitting component. In this case, at least a first indicating mark is formed on one surface of the transparent component. The main case body has at least a light-transmitting hole. The transparent component is attached to a surface of the main case body, so that the first indicating mark is set on one side of the light-transmitting hole. The light-transmitting component has at least a light-transmitting portion and is attached to another surface of the main case body corresponding to the transparent component. Therefore, the light-transmitting portion is set on the other side of the light-transmitting hole opposite to the first indicating mark. Furthermore, the invention also discloses an electronic device using the case.

  • Patent number: 6846157
Abstract: A cooling fan is characterized in jointing the bottom edges of all the fan leaves of a fan body to a common baseplate closely without any clearance. Therefore, turbulence could be thoroughly eliminated for promoting cooling efficiency when the fan body is driven to rotate.

  • Patent number: 6805536
Abstract: A heat dissipation fan having a side mount configuration includes a casing having a bottom wall and a surrounding side wall extending from the bottom wall to define an open top. The side wall also defines a side opening to guide an air flow toward a heat source. A cross bar is detachably mounted to the open top or is made of resilient material. A shaft is arranged inside the casing and has upper and lower ends removably received in a recess defined in the cross bar and a notch defined in the bottom wall of the casing. A blade assembly comprised of a cylinder and blades extending from the cylinder is rotatably mounted to the shaft. Windings and magnets are arranged inside the cylinder. Electrical wires are electrically connected to the windings via conductive pads formed on the upper end of the shaft or by extending through openings defined in the upper end of the shaft.
