  • Patent number: 4803412
Abstract: A method and apparatus for rotating an antenna, including a keypad is used to first program a controller for storing a plurality of individually selectable positions for the antenna, a particular key of the keypad representing a programmed position for the antenna, whereafter programming the keys of the keypad are individually depressed for commanding the controller to operate a motor driven rotator for moving the antenna in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to the position associated with the momentarily depressed key. Also, visual indicators are arranged in a compass configuration for indicating the positioning of the antenna as it rotates, and selectively indicating the rest position of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 4618996
Abstract: A radio frequency transmission system contains at least one coherently modulated information signal, for example, a T.V. signal. At a transmission, the information signal is combined with two pilot tones, F1 and F2, related by the equation F1=N/M F2, where N and M are integers. The combined signal is suppressed-carrier modulated at microwave frequencies and transmitted to a receiver. At the receiver, the signals are demodulated by a local oscillator. The two pilot tones are then separated from the information signal and are compared to each other. The local oscillator frequency is controlled in response to this comparison such that the pilot tones at the receiver bear the same relationship to each other that they had at the transmitter. When this is achieved, the local oscillator frequency is the same as the suppressed-carrier frequency and co-channel interference is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4332024
Abstract: An improved tone arm with counterweight assembly for use in a phonograph record player, the tone arm comprising at the rearward end a first counterweight sleeve element and a second counterweight, the first sleeve element having markings thereon to indicate the stylus force and adapted to be slidable on the arm and then to be secured in place, and the second counterweight adapted to be slidable over the sleeve element and in cooperation with the markings to be positioned, to provide the desired weight of stylus force to the stylus on the tone arm.

  • Patent number: 4193077
Abstract: An electrically directable antenna system is provided which is tunable to individual stations in the FM band. The antenna system includes a pair of crossed, forshortened dipole components which are arranged to be mutually perpendicular. Each of the dipole components includes a pair of longitudinally aligned arms which are flared at their outer ends so as to be shaped generally like an arrow. At their inner ends, these arms are connected to a narrow bandwidth tuner network which is designed to resonate the dipole components at a frequency corresponding to a selected station and to impedance match each of the dipole components to the input of the FM receiver. The tuner network includes a bandwidth control, which is operable to produce a predetermined impedance mismatch between the dipole components and the receiver input so that, without changing the frequency to which the antenna system is tuned, the overall antenna system gain can be made substantially constant over the entire FM band.

  • Patent number: 4153256
Abstract: A tonearm system is provided in accordance with the invention in which the tonearm is mechanically maintained in tangential tracking relationship in the groove in a record during the playing thereof, the record being mounted on a rotating turntable. The principle of the mechanical system according to the invention is to provide the tonearm in fixed relationship with a bracket combination capable of pivoting the tonearm horizontally on a vertical axis which bracket in turn is adapted to rotate about a secondary vertical pivotal axis, this axis being in fixed relationship to the axis of the turntable and the record being played.

  • Patent number: 4004816
Abstract: A record player is organized to play in succession a series of records to provide a programmer simulating an operatic performance, or playing of music of a selected mood extending over a period of time. The player also permits of automatic multiple playings of a single record. Simplified indicating and control means makes the programmer easily understood and easily operated. The player provides the aforesaid performance with either the standard 7 inch 45 RPM records or the standard 12 inch 33 RPM records. The mechanism employed is especially constructed to avoid disturbing mechanical noises.
