  • Patent number: 6811035
Abstract: A device for sorting flat-area piece goods, particularly packets, packages, and letters. This device has a drum cylinder open towards the outside at both faces, and mounted at an angle to rotate on a bearing body on the mantle surface of the cylinder. The cylinder is structured with longitudinal rollers that rotate about their longitudinal axis, arranged at a distance from one another, mounted on annular flanges, whereby the longitudinal rollers are arranged as steps that extend towards the inside. In each instance, the steps are formed of a roller arrangement of longitudinal rollers. According to an alternative particularly preferred embodiment there is a device with longitudinal rollers that can be put into rotation about their longitudinal axes by a drive. This device has longitudinal rollers that can be put into rotation about their longitudinal axes by the drive.

  • Patent number: 6412623
Abstract: A roller conveyor having side wings spaced apart from each other for accommodating rollers that are arranged between these side wings successively in the direction of conveyance. These rollers are rotatably supported at both ends by trunnions extending into these rollers on their face sides, and are driven by a motor. In addition, at least one roller is in driving connection via a gearing with a driving motor arranged on a side wing on the driving side. In this case, the driving motor may be designed in the form of a bow-like section which is open on the side facing away from the rollers. In this case, the driving motor and the gearing, may be combined in a geared motor, and are accommodated within the box-like section.

  • Patent number: 6273268
Abstract: The sorting system comprises a sorting line with ejection stations successively arranged along the line. There is a conveying system guided along the sorting line and having a sorting device successively arranged as well. Each sorting device has a conveyor belt drivable transversely to the sorting line for receiving a parceled article chargeable in a loading station, and for the controlled ejection of the article in an ejection station. The drive of the conveyor belts of the sorting devices takes place purely by mechanical driving means. First driving means are arranged in the region of each ejection station, and are selectively engageable with second driving means of a sorting device. The first driving means cooperates with the second driving means when the respective sorting device passes the first driving means. The first and the second driving means are preferably cooperate by friction grip.

  • Patent number: 6253910
Abstract: Sorting devices are successively guided along a sorting line and driven by means of a conveyor system. Each sorting device has a running carriage with running rollers guided in the sorting line's guide rails. In addition, the sorting device contains a means for receiving and ejecting individual parceled articles sent from a loading station. The conveyor system comprises a chain having chain links with flat undersides which are movably connected to each other. The chain links are rigidly connected to each running carriage of the sorting devices and project beyond these sorting devices in a transport direction. The joints between successive chain links are each bridged on their underside by a pre-tensioned leaf spring. The driving means is a friction wheel drive with a friction wheel engaging the chain links on their undersides. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, one chain link is rigidly connected to each of the running carriages of the sorting devices.

  • Patent number: 5456349
Abstract: A belt conveyor having an endless conveyor belt with an upper run and a lower run. A frictional wheel frictionally engages the lower belt run opposite a belt support roller acting as a counterpressure roller and a pivot arm carrying the friction wheel. A spring urges the wheel against the lower belt run so that, on driving of the wheel in clockwise sense, the lower belt run is frictionally driven in corresponding direction. The pivot axis of the pivot arm is at a downstream--with respect to the drive direction of the lower belt run--side of a plane containing the axes of the friction wheel and counterpressure roller. The contact pressure force between lower belt run and friction wheel varies proportionally to change in the peripheral force to be transmitted to the belt run for drive thereof.

  • Patent number: 5228576
Abstract: A device for sorting small articles by size. A chute conveys the articles. A gap allows articles of less than a prescribed size through it. The gap is between the chute and a mechanism that extends across the slide. The mechanism detaches and conveys larger articles away along the gap. The object is to prevent articles from becoming jammed upstream of the gap. The gap is a channel that extends essentially across the slope of the chute. The channel is demarcated by two baffles. One baffle merges into the chute. The other merges into the detaching and conveying mechanism. The mechanism also has means of intermittently lifting or tossing articles that become jammed upstream of the channel.

  • Patent number: 5090550
Abstract: A belt-type conveyor with two sections at a variable angle to each other and with a continuous belt that travels at each end over at least one deflection roller, at least one of which is driven and at least one of which can be shifted at an angle to its axis of rotation. The sections of belt associated with each conveyor section are accommodated in two channels that are positioned at a variable angle originating at an axis of articulation paralleling the axes of rotation of the deflection rollers and that have walls at each side of the belt extending above its upper strand, and is deflected around guide rollers in the vicinity of the axis of articulation between the conveyor sections. The axis of articulation between the adjustable-angle channels is on the side facing away from the level of the lower strand of the belt and away from the level of the upper strand. The walls of the two adjacent channels overlap throughout the range of angles between the two conveyor section.

  • Patent number: 5083411
Abstract: A stacking station for receiving empty containers stacked in superposed relationship and a stacking station for receiving full containers which are also stacked in superposed relationship are disposed side-by-side while arranged at a right angle relative thereto and adjacent the empty container stacking station is a station for filling the containers. When viewed from above the apparatus forms an angle with the empty container stacking station as the angle corner. In normal use that permits the apparatus to be used in a space-saving fashion in such a way that the two stacking stations can be set up at the end of a production machine from which articles are to be taken while the filling station extends on the discharge side of a machine of that kind for component ejection.
