Publication number: 20110160930Abstract: A local power converter may include a controller to manipulate the operating point of a local power converter to cause the power point tracking feature of a central power converter to operate at a point determined by the controller. In some embodiments, the controller can manipulate the operating point of the local power converter by alternating between at least two modes. In some other embodiments, the controller can manipulate the operating point of the local power converter to provide a substantially constant slope. In some other embodiments, the controller can maintain a substantially constant impedance ratio. In some other embodiments, the controller enables perturbations from the power point tracking feature of the central power converter to reach the power source.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2010Publication date: June 30, 2011Applicant: AZURAY TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Robert Batten, Vincenzo DiTommaso, Gary B. Baker, Henry F. Pruett, Adam Heiberg, Triet Tu Le, Edward Gee

Publication number: 20110055303Abstract: One embodiment relates to a method for generating a periodic function in response to an argument in a digital signal processing system, where the periodic function can be represented as functions of two or more components of the argument. The method may include: obtaining a first operand from one of two or more lookup tables in response to a first component of the argument; obtaining a second operand from one of the lookup tables in response to a second component of the argument; conditionally mirroring the first and second operands in response to a quadrant of the argument; and calculating a value of the periodic function in response to the operands with a linear algebra unit without using conditional code execution.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2010Publication date: March 3, 2011Applicant: AZURAY TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Keith Slavin

Publication number: 20110055445Abstract: A signal processing system may include a multiply-accumulate (MAC) unit to generate output data by performing multiply-accumulate operations on first and second input data in response to a stream of MAC instruction words, where the MAC unit is pipelined to enable it to perform a multiply-accumulate operation in response to each MAC instruction word. The system may also include an instruction generator to generate the stream of MAC instruction words by performing loop expansion on a stream of intermediate instruction words, where one intermediate instruction word may comprise a group of fields to set up the MAC unit to execute in response to the one intermediate instruction word.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2010Publication date: March 3, 2011Applicant: AZURAY TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Edward Gee, Keith Slavin, Robert Batten, Vincenzo DiTommaso, Ravindranath Naiknaware, Triet Tu Le, Adam Heiberg, Dennis Morel

Publication number: 20100157632Abstract: In one embodiment, a power conversion system may include a controller to cause a power stage to control power to or from an energy storage device. In another embodiment, a power conversion system may include a push-pull stage and an energy storage device following the push-pull stage. In another embodiment, an integrated circuit may include power control circuitry to provide power control to a power converter, and a power switch coupled to the power control circuitry to operate the power converter. In another embodiment, a power conversion system may include two or more power converters having power control.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2009Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: AZURAY TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Robert D. Publication number: 20100157638Abstract: In one embodiment, a power conversion system includes a controller to provide power control to a converter, and a distortion mitigation circuit. In another embodiment, a system includes a converter to transfer power between a power source and a load having fluctuating power demand, and a controller to provide power control, where the controller may selectively disable the power control. In another embodiment, a power conversion system includes a controller to generate a drive signal to provide power control to a power path in response to a sense signal from the power path, where the sense signal is taken from other than the input of the power path, or the drive signal is applied to the power path at other than a first power stage.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2009Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: AZURAY TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Ravindranath Naiknaware, Vincenzo DiTommaso, Triet Tu Le, Robert D.
