  • Patent number: 8777080
Abstract: The invention relates to a setting device for an auxiliary joining part, particularly a setting fastener or a punch rivet, including a driven punch which for a setting movement can be moved in a joining channel to which the auxiliary joining part can be loosely fed. The setting device includes a head piece in which a part of the joining channel runs, further including a plurality of compressed air ducts ending in the joining channel, and an exhaust air channel. The exhaust air channel ends adjacent to the front side of the punch moving the auxiliary joining part into the joining channel of the setting device such that an airflow can be generated in the joining channel in the direction of the front of the punch moving the auxiliary joining part by way of an overpressure which can be generated in the plurality of compressed air channels compared to the atmospheric pressure and by which the auxiliary joining part can be positioned on the front side of the punch.

  • Patent number: 8690037
Abstract: The present invention relates to a magazine of a setting device for storing and feeding a plurality of joining elements, particularly of joining elements, such as setting fasteners, to a provisioning module for joining elements and a setting device in combination with the joining elements. The magazine has a base element within the setting device including a storage groove, in which the joining elements can be received in an aligned and jointly moveable manner and one end of the base element ends in a head piece of the setting device. The magazine further includes an advancing mechanism, by which the joining elements can be moved within the storage groove towards the head piece of the setting device, as well as a dispensing mechanism, by which the joining elements can be fed individually from the storage groove to the head piece of the setting device.

  • Publication number: 20130276287
Abstract: A wire thread insert comprises besides a cylindrical helix consisting of a plurality of coils a moving tang projecting into the interior of the helix for installing the wire thread insert into a receiving thread. The wire thread insert is connected to the cylindrical helix via a bending portion such that the moving tang can be redressed into the receiving thread after installation of the wire thread insert. The wire thread insert is installed by means of an installation tool with a mounting spindle, which installs the wire thread insert in the receiving thread via a moving shoulder and the moving tang. A compression blade provided at the mounting spindle bends the moving tang back into the receiving thread while the mounting spindle is removed from the installed wire thread insert.

  • Publication number: 20100183404
Abstract: A method for establishing a nail connection between two components and a nail for this purpose are described. The nail 6 is driven through the non-preholed components in the joint area at a high speed such that the nail point completely penetrates both components and a material collar, which extends into an adhesive layer between the two components, is only formed in the to driving direction in the nail-head-side component.
