Abstract: A swing seat assembly is provided for enhancing durability of the swing and increasing the safety of a person using the swing. The swing seat assembly includes an elongated seat element and a reinforcing member extending along the seat element. The reinforcing member is formed of a different material than the seat element and has a tensile strength that is greater than the tensile strength of the seat element. The assembly also includes a pair of rigid connecting elements configured to operably couple the seat element with suspending elements, where the connecting elements at least partially project from end margins of the seat element but do not extend inwardly beyond a top face of the seat element. A swing assembly is also provided that includes a reinforced swing seat with a reinforcing member extending therealong and being encased therein. The swing assembly includes a pair of suspending elements coupled to hooks projecting from end margins of the seat for suspending the seat from a playset frame.
Abstract: A playset is operable to be erected on a site and includes a slide and an adjustable-height slide base. The slide base includes an adapter that attaches below the slide and at least one standoff that attaches below the adapter.

Abstract: A slide assembly and method of assembling a slide assembly are disclosed for use in conjunction with a recreation structure. The slide assembly includes a pair of side rails with internal grooves along lengths thereof and a slide bed located between the side rails with side margins thereof received within the grooves of the side rails. The slide assembly also includes reinforcements extending between the side rails underneath the slide bed, with ends of each reinforcement received within a recess in each of the side rails. Fasteners, such as screws, selectively secure side margin portions of the slide bed and ends of each reinforcement to each of the side rails. The method of assembling a slide assembly includes inserting each side margin of a slide bed into grooves of the side rails and attaching the slide bed and side rails to a recreation structure.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for a bracket useful with joints and bracing of structural members, especially for structures such as forts, swings, treehouses, playground equipment, decks, etc. that slips over the end of a brace board and bolts to that board on the face side of the board. The bracket preferably includes one or more molded holes spaced from a bracing member, to allow the bracket to be affixed to the structure to be braced. The bracket also preferably fits over or around a bracing structural member, and includes one or more transverse holes for fastening the bracket to the bracing structural member. Among other things, the bracket eliminates the need to fasten the members together via a screw or bolt positioned through the top edge of the bracing board or structural member. The bracket provides a stronger, more attractive, joint than the prior art, is preferably fabricated from plastic, and can be any desired color. Methods of fabrication and assembly are disclosed.

Abstract: A ladder and attachment mechanism apparatus and methods are described herein. The apparatus preferably are of a modular design, and are especially useful for playground or similar equipment. Among other things, the apparatus and methods provide improved fabrication, construction, assembly, and ease of use in a variety of applications, and reduce manufacturing, inventory, shipping, assembly, and related costs. In one embodiment, the playground ladder includes a plurality of horizontal support members, a first lateral support member and a second lateral support member each having substantially the same size and shape and spaced apart from each other. Each lateral support member includes a plurality of corresponding sockets spaced along the length of opposite sides of each lateral support member thereby allowing the lateral support members to be interchangeable.
