  • Patent number: 5029884
Abstract: A trolley for loading heavy and bulky loads such as a dead animal is of the two wheel type with an upper portion of the frame extending upwardly from the wheels and a forward portion of the frame projecting downwardly toward the ground and forwardly to engage the load. A separate frame portion carries a hand winch and a pulley so that a cable passes over the pulley and can extend downwardly over a covering sheet on the upper portion of the frame. The separate frame carrying the winch can be moved from a lower position on the rear of the upper frame portion to a raised position above the handles of the upper frame portion. The trolley can simply lift a very bulky load such as a dead animal onto the upper frame portion so that it can be wheeled away through relatively narrow alleyways.

  • Patent number: 4888468
Abstract: A brooder lamp for small animals, especially pigs, has a stainless steel reflector housing a bulb socket and a resilient metal plate extending across the reflector, in front of the socket. An opening in the plate is sized to pass the narrow neck of the bulb but to engage the widening port and to bias it away from the socket. This provides a secure mounting for the bulb in the socket to inhibit damage due to impact with the lamp of playful animals.

  • Patent number: 4512393
Abstract: A heat exchange apparatus includes a core mounted within a casing and two fans arranged to draw air from the exterior of a building through the core in a first path and to draw air from the interior of the building through the core in a second path. The core is made up from a plurality of tubular cells each formed from a single folded sheet of aluminum and having a slot shaped cross-section. The short sides of the slot are arranged to face the inlet of cold exterior air so that it impinges upon the outer surface of the short side. The fan drawing the warm air is arranged to direct air onto the other surface of the short side so that the short side and the surrounding portions of the long sides act as an effective heat exchange surface free from the seam of the tubular core which is arranged adjacent opposite the short side. A differentially perforated baffle plate spreads the cold air over core such that more cold air is directed to the warm end of the core.
