Abstract: A plant and process are used to liquefy and purify a high pressure ethane feed stream. The plant includes a cascaded refrigeration system that refrigerates the ethane feed stream. The refrigeration system includes a propylene circuit, an ethylene circuit and a mixed refrigerant circuit. The mixed refrigerant circuit includes a refrigerant that includes ethane and methane. The plant includes a demethanizer that is configured to remove methane and other natural gas liquids from the refrigerated ethane stream.

Abstract: An absorbent composition includes an amino-siloxane having structure (I): wherein R1 is independently at each occurrence a C1-C6 aliphatic or aromatic radical; R2 is independently at each occurrence a C2-C10 aliphatic or aromatic radical; R3 is independently at each occurrence a hydrogen atom or a C1-C6 aliphatic or aromatic radical; R4 is independently at each occurrence a C1-C18 aliphatic or aromatic radical or R5, wherein R5 comprises structure (II): wherein X is independently at each occurrence an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; w is between 0 and 5; y is between 0 and 10; and z is between 0 and 10; wherein, when R4 is R5 comprising the structure (II), a sum of w, y, and z is greater than or equal to 0, and, when R4 is not R5, a sum of w, y, and z is greater than or equal to 1.
