  • Publication number: 20180244149
Abstract: Filler neck, including a passage extending along a longitudinal axis, at least one permanently magnetic element being arranged annularly around the longitudinal axis, at least in regions, outside the passage and able to generate a permanent magnetic field in the passage, and either at least one ferromagnetic element arranged annularly around the longitudinal axis, at least in regions, outside the passage, the at least one permanently magnetic element and the at least one ferromagnetic element being arranged so as to be adjacent and so as to overlap, at least in regions, viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis, or the at least one permanently magnetic element having a height, viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis, that is different from 10 mm, and arranged in the filler neck such that a magnetic field generated by the at least one permanently magnetic element has a maximum attractive force, towards the longitudinal axis, in a specified position in the passage.

  • Patent number: 8485363
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for separating solid materials on the basis of a mutual difference in density, wherein the materials to be separated are brought into contact with a magnetic fluid across which fluid a density gradient is generated by means of a magnetic field such that fractions of solid materials of different densities are obtained, said device being provided with a magnet, an inflow chamber, a separation chamber, and means for discharging fractions of solid materials of different densities in separation, wherein the magnetic fluid flows from the inflow chamber to the separation chamber, wherein the magnet is arranged above the separation chamber, and wherein at least one duct for the supply of the solid materials to be separated is located below the inflow chamber and the separation chamber and encloses an angle with the inflow chamber and the separation chamber.

  • Patent number: 7753211
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of separating solid particles, using a magnetic fluid, wherein the magnetic fluid is passed through a magnetic field for the purpose of changing the effective density of the magnetic fluid, and the particles are separated into fractions of different density. The present invention further relates to device for separating solid particles, using a magnetic fluid.

  • Patent number: 6865771
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning liquid-filled tanks, e.g., aquariums, includes an inner cleaning assembly which moves across the interior wall of the tank and an outer cleaning assembly which moves across the exterior wall of the tank. The inner and outer cleaning assembly are magnetically attracted to each other so that manipulation of the outer cleaning assembly results in corresponding motion of the inner cleaning assembly. The inner cleaning assembly bears a cleaning pad which moves across the tank wall to clean matter therefrom. The inner cleaning assembly is buoyant so that interruption of the magnetic engagement between the inner and outer cleaning assemblies results in the inner cleaning assembly floating to the top of the liquid-filled tank for easier retrieval.

  • Patent number: 6348104
Abstract: A device and method for cleaning the interior window surface of an aquarium comprises a buoyant floatable interior element and an exterior element. At least one element has at least one magnet and the other element has a material attracted to the at least one magnet so the elements attract each other under the influence of a magnetic force between the elements. Such material may be a magnet or magnetically attractive metal. Movement of the exterior element along the exterior window surface of the aquarium causes the buoyant floating interior element to move along the interior window surface of the aquarium thereby cleaning the interior window surface. Once the magnetic force between the elements has been removed, the buoyant floatable interior element floats to and on the surface of the liquid medium present in the aquarium.
