Patents Assigned to Bally Engineered Structures, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4976081
Abstract: A sandwich panel assembly for refrigerated and non-refrigerated structures has an insulating layer disposed between two facings. A chain having hooks or a wire is attached to the facings and is entirely embedded in the insulating layer for positively connecting the faces together. Cable or strapping may be used in place of the connecting or wire. A thermal insulation prevents thermal short circuits from a facing through the chain or wire.

  • Patent number: 4974383
Abstract: Walk-in coolers for maintaining a chamber at a temperature are assembled from sandwich panels, which are welded together in end-to-end abutting relationship. Each panel generally has an inner metallic facing and a spaced opposed metallic facing with the space between the facings filled with a thermal insulating organic material having a coefficient of thermal conductivity of less than 0.3 Btu/hr,ft.sup.2,.degree.F./ft. The abutting ends of the inner facings are welded together to cover the crevices between the inner facings and to fill the corners between mutually perpendicular facings. A heat conducting member having a coefficient of thermal conductivity greater than about 0.3 Btu/hr,ft.sup.2,.degree.F./ft is disposed in the insulating material in contact with the inner facing adjacent the welded abutting end.

  • Patent number: 4922668
Abstract: A service access unit for a floor system having elongate trunking for one service feed segregated from other service feed or feeds, has a frame to extend across and beyond such trunking at least to one side. The frame is securable in an aperture in the floor of greater size than an included lesser aperture into the top of the trunking. A subsidiary member fits within the frame and extends into said lesser aperture in affording outlet for the service in the trunking. Outlet for at least one other service whose feed is outside the trunking can be taken from at least one side of the subsidiary member but within the frame.

  • Patent number: 4912897
Abstract: A flooring system with services segregation for an existing base or substrate (10) to give a new floor, comprises elongate segregation ducting (20) shown with spaced parallel sides (34) and medial divider(s) (36) extending therealong, the sides (34) and divider(s) (36) being apertured (48, 40) to communicate selectively with trough-like elements (50) bridging over space below for segregation of service passageways to each side of the divider(s) (36); and elongate supports (22), for the new floor are shown extending away from the segregation ducting in spaced parallel relation and definhe segregated further passageways (22A, F1, F2) communicating with the apertures (48) of the sides of the segregation ducting.

  • Patent number: 4844975
Abstract: A composite panel assembly for walk-in coolers and freezers and similar structures has a thickness of low strength insulation sandwiched between two facings. A reinforcing structural member is bonded to the insulation side of one of the facings and extends across at least about half of the thickness of the insulation but is spaced from the opposite facing. The reinforcing member does not provide a direct thermal path between facings; thus preventing condensation on the facing during high humidity and/or low temperature conditions.
