Patent number: 9353007Abstract: A dry mortar mixture based on at least one hydraulic and/or latently hydraulic binder which in the made-up and not yet cured state has firm properties is claimed. The novel dry mortar mixture is characterized in that it contains at least one representative of a dispersant and at least one compound having superabsorbent properties. This mixture makes it possible to carry over the advantages of known tile adhesives for horizontal application to vertical application possibilities.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2010Date of Patent: May 31, 2016Assignee: BASF CONSTRUCTION POLYMERS GmbHInventors: Michael Eberwein, Christian Trieflinger, Michael Schinabeck, Jutta Karin Langlotz, Stefan Friedrich, Gregor Herth

Publication number: 20140066547Abstract: Claimed is a cationic copolymer and also its use as an admixture agent for building product systems, especially based on calcium sulfate. The copolymers of the invention effectuate accelerated setting behavior in clay-containing as well as non-clay-containing gypsums and they enable uncurtailed water reduction performance by dispersant agents used at the same time with the copolymers. The clay fractions in the gypsum system are masked by the cationic copolymer, and so the building product mixture exhibits properties of a building product mixture not containing clay. The copolymers are used as a formulation and also together with retarders.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2011Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: BASF CONSTRUCTION POLYMERS GMBHInventors: Michael Schinabeck, Frank Dierschke, Manfred Bichler, Silke Flakus, Stefan Friedrich

Publication number: 20130330532Abstract: The subject of the present invention is a gypsum containing aqueous slurry containing a phosphate based polycondensate as sole agent with dispersing properties. With a phosphated polycondensate according to the invention as sole dispersing component an improved efficiency was found in comparison with the polycondensates known in the prior art. As additional favorable effect a significantly decreased retardation of the setting and hardening of the various construction compositions and especially of gypsum based slurries compared to other dispersants is to be observed, independently from the dosage of the dispersing component. This effect of the polycondensate component as well as an expedient influence on the pore structure surprisingly can be observed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2011Publication date: December 12, 2013Applicant: BASF Construction Polymers GmbHInventors: Frank Dierschke, Klaus Prosiegel, Michael Schinabeck

Patent number: 7655710Abstract: The invention relates to the use of water-soluble polymers, consisting of a) monoethylenically unsaturated monomers consisting of acidic groups in an acidic, partially or fully neutralized form and b) other monomers which can be copolymerized with monomers a) as a drying agent for the production of redispersion power and/or powdery polymer dispersing agents. The water-soluble polymers contain at least 20 wt. % monomers (a) and a maximum of 8O wt. % monomers (b) and are supplied to the production process in the form of aqueous solutions in amounts of up to 50 wt. % maximum, enabling powder, polymer products with a residual moisture of <2 wt. % to be obtained, particularly in spray drying processes, and which are added to mineral systems as dispersing agents in amounts of 0.05-5 wt. % or are used as building materials for the mineral binding of redispersion powder in adhesives or as a binders in their own right.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2003Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: BASF Construction Polymers GmbHInventors: Herbert Hommer, Manfred Bichler, Werner Strauβ, Konrad Wutz

Patent number: 7612150Abstract: Water-soluble, biologically degradable copolymers based on polyamide are described which contain at least one grafted side chain composed of aldehydes and sulfur-containing acids and salts thereof and optionally at least one compound from the series ketones, aromatic alcohols, urea (derivatives) and amino-s-triazines. Natural polyamides such as caseins, gelatins, collagens, bone glues, blood albumins and soya proteins as well as degradation products thereof and synthetic polyamides such as polyaspartic acids and copolymers of aspartic and glutamic acid are used as preferred polyamide components. These copolymers are obtained primarily by graft polymerization at temperatures between ?10 and 250° C., preferably in the presence of a solvent such as water or by thermal drying and they are used in particular as flow agents or water retention agents for inorganic binders and pigments especially in combination with hydraulic binders they only have a very slight setting-retardant effect.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2003Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Assignee: BASF Construction Polymers GmbHInventors: Christian Spindler, Johann Plank
