Abstract: This invention relates to a method for manufacturing removable linings to snugly wrap articles having a tridimensional outline. Such a method, which starts from a roll of fabric, of a nonwoven fabric, knitted fabric, meshed fabric and other fabrics, manufactures such linings continuously through a sequence of operations which are carried out in orderly marshalled stations. The finished linings thus obtained has, on the end folds of at least one of two opposite sides, a crease of the same folds sewn in the vicinity of the two nonfolded sides of the fabric piece. An additional and preferred embodiment exhibits corrugation members which can slide within seatings formed by an edging, said edging and said corrugation members being, in their turn, enclosed within the crease of said folds.
Abstract: A device for gathering and retaining a portion of a fabric article such as an article of clothing, includes a first, elastic ribbon- or cord-shaped element fastened at one end to the article to be gathered within a seating or sleeve provided on the fabric article. The first element is also attached at at least two points to a second ribbon- or cord-shaped element such that the overlapping portion of one of the elements is longer than that of the other element. A rigid lamina is provided attached to the larger overlapping portion to engage the front edge of the fabric sleeve, thereby securing the fabric in the gathered position.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cover made of fabric, non-woven fabric, knitted fabric or needle-worked fabric, for covering and dressing 3-D articles in a perfectly enwrapping manner and with great ease of application. The said cover features on two end flaps of two opposed sides a hemming of said flaps which forms a slide-seating within which corrugating elements are placed, each of the two free flaps of said cover also featuring two eyelets adapted to receive said corrugating elements.
Abstract: A method and a mechanical assembly are disclosed for mounting, on angular areas of a mattress-enveloping bed sheet or similar article, segments of elastic band to elasticize said angular areas. The method requires that the angular transversal seams which unite adjacent flaps of the sheet pairwise by detected by a thickness gauge so as to generate a signal going to a stitch counting assembly (SCA) wherein a preselected number of stitches corresponding to the angular area to be elasticized has been preselected. The sewing machine is thus started and begins to stitch the continuously fed fabric; meanwhile, a double fold is formed on the fabric edge by a specially provided shaping device. Immediately after, the elastic band feeding device enters action and introduce the elastic band in the fabric double fold for a time determined by the Stitch Counting Assembly (SCA) and the sewing machine sews the elastic band and the folded fabric together.
