    Abstract: A vane for a flow control valve comprises a disc-shaped member mountable for rotation about an axis through the plane of the member. Integral with the disc-shaped member is at least one flow-modifying member provided with openings therethrough so that, in the open position of the vane all of the fluid flow takes place through the openings. The shape and size of the openings determines the flow characteristics in a particular system.
