Abstract: A toilet seat assembly includes first and second hinges configured to be mounted on a toilet bowl, an adult seat coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about an axis, and a child seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion. The child seat is removably coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis and is removable from the hinges by squeezing the arms towards one another.

Abstract: A cap may include a threaded inner body and an outer cover. A ratchet mechanism may be operatively positioned between the inner body and the outer cover to directly transmit rotation from the outer cover to the inner body in the cap-unthreading direction and to transmit no more than a predetermined amount of torque from the outer cover to the inner body in the cap-threading direction. A gauge assembly may include a float, an indicator dial, and a pointer. The float is supportable at a level of fluid within the container, and the pointer is movable in response to movement of the float with the level of fluid in the container. The pointer cooperates with the indicator dial to indicate the level of fluid in the container. A translucent crystal may be positioned over the indicator dial and the pointer. The crystal may be fixed relative to the inner body.

Abstract: A toilet seat hinge for mounting a toilet seat to a toilet bowl includes a hinge post and a pin extending through the hinge post and defining an axis. The pin is configured to attach the toilet seat to the hinge post for pivotal movement about the axis. The toilet seat hinge also includes a quick release mechanism for releasably securing the hinge post to the toilet bowl. The quick release mechanism includes a member coupled to the pin for pivotal movement about the axis. The member is pivotable about the axis between a first position in which the hinge post is secured to the toilet bowl, and a second position in which the hinge post is released from the toilet bowl.

Abstract: A pressure relief cap engageable with a container includes a vent passage between an interior of the cap and an exterior of the cap. A two-way pressure relief valve is located along the vent passage and is configured to open automatically in response to a positive net interior pressure exceeding a first threshold pressure and in response to a negative net interior pressure exceeding a second threshold pressure. A manual actuator is actuable from the exterior of the cap to open the two-way pressure relief valve. A plug is positioned along the vent passage in series with the two-way pressure relief valve, movable between a first position in which the vent passage is open between the two-way pressure relief valve and the exterior of the cap and a second position in which the plug closes the vent passage between the two-way pressure relief valve and the exterior of the cap.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for a toilet seat, the hinge assembly comprising a hinge post for pivotally supporting the toilet seat on a toilet bowl, and a bolt embedded in the hinge post and configured to extend through an opening in the toilet bowl, the bolt having thereon a plurality of projections extending into the hinge post to distribute to the hinge post forces applied to the bolt.

In one aspect, the method includes the acts of providing identical threaded portions, providing identical cover portions, providing a first vent module, providing a second vent module different from the first vent module, selecting the first vent module and coupling together the first vent module with one of the identical threaded portions and one of the identical cover portions to form a first cap assembly, and selecting the second vent module and coupling together the second vent module with another one of the identical threaded portions and another one of the identical cover portions to form a second cap assembly. In other aspects, the method includes assembling first and second cap assemblies with identical cover portions and threaded portions, but having different pawl members providing different cap-installing torque limits.

Abstract: A drainage device and a method for draining a liner-type suction canister. The drainage device includes a swingarm, a drainhead, and a suction source. The drainhead is positioned to be in fluid communication with the liner-type suction canister. The swingarm rotates to activate the suction source and invert the liner-type suction canister. The contents of the liner-type suction canister drain to a sewer system. The method includes the acts of placing the liner-type suction canister on the swingarm, coupling the drainhead to the liner-type suction canister, rotating the swingarm, and activating the suction source.

Abstract: A fuel cap operable to close an opening of a fuel tank. The fuel cap includes an outer shell having a protrusion and a shell locking member. The fuel cap includes a detection mechanism for sensing a level of fuel within the tank. The fuel cap further includes an assembly component engageable with the outer shell to support the detection mechanism on the outer shell. The assembly component defines a groove operable to receive the protrusion. Additionally, the assembly component includes a component locking member. The outer shell and the assembly component are engageable with one another by a relative axial movement followed by a relative rotational movement about an axis. Once engaged, the outer shell and the assembly component are fixed against disengagement by engagement of the shell locking member and the component locking member.
