  • Patent number: 5012998
Abstract: Assembly of a servomotor (10), such as a brake booster sevomotor, on a motor-vehicle bulkhead is performed by fixing, on the rear side of the srvomotor and on the bulkhed, two pairs of plates (16a, 16b; 18a, 18b) which project towards each other and are parallel with each other and with the axis of the servomotor. These plates are rigidly joined together by at least one screw/nut assembly, the nut (24a, 24b) of which is welded onto one of the plates and the screws (26a, 26b) of which pass through the plates in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the servomotor, the plates being accessible from the outside. • Patent number: 5002161
Abstract: The spring comprises a mounting portion 42 snapped into the arch of the caliper of a sliding-caliper disc brake, and rigid portions 58, 60 for exerting forces on support plates 26, 28 of friction members interacting with the disc of the brake. According to the invention, slits 90, 92 parallel to the rigid portions 58, 60 reduce the rigidity of the central part of these. Thus, when the friction members become worn and approach the center of the spring, an intensification of the forces exerted on the support plates by the spring is avoided. A lug 100 makes it possible to keep the rigid portion 58 away from a fragile part of the brake when the friction members are removed from the latter. The invention is used on sliding-caliper disc brakes.

  • Patent number: 5000295
Abstract: The actuator (10) of a brake, such as a disc brake, is controlled by an electric motor (34) which drives a pump (38, 50, 62) ensuring that the pressure of the brake fluid in a control chamber (44) rises. A crankshaft (38) driven by the electric motor (34) imparts a to-and-fro movement to a plunger piston (50) in a pumping chamber (62). This chamber (62) communicates with a brake-fluid reservoir via an intake duct (74) controlled by way of a valve (76, 78) and with the chamber (44) via a delivery duct controlled by way of a valve (58, 60). Furthermore, the control chamber (44) communicates with the reservoir via a recycling duct (80) controlled by way of a solenoid valve (82). The entire hydraulic circuit so formed is accommodated in the body (12) of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 4984506
Abstract: In a brake booster comprising a control rod (30) actuating a booster mechanism (34, 20a, 28a) by way of a plunger (28), in order to exert a boosting force on a piston (20) acting on a push rod (46) via a reaction disc (48) made of a deformable material, an adjustable prestress is applied to the latter. This result can be obtained particularly by way of a cover (50) capping a plate (46b), formed at the rear end of the push rod, and the reaction disc (48). The prestress thus applied to the disc makes it possible to adjust the play existing between the latter and the front end of the plunger (28) and consequently the jump of the booster.
