Abstract: A method of testing a liquid sample, a test unit, an and automatized system of a plurality of test units. The system is for large scale testing patient blood samples, comprising a large number of test units at different locations and connected through a common control unit. In an individual test unit there is a liquid dosing chamber, hermetically closed packages of calibrator and control liquids, closed liquid reagent packages, a liquid sample inlet and an actuator for dosing and mixing the reacting components and elements for registering results from the reactions. The test unit can calibrate, control and test reactions automatically under surveillance of the control unit. The system can use the same packaged liquids in each of the test units, enabling calculation of averages of the control results and, through comparison of individual results with an average, letting faults be detected through results outside permitted deviations.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recording the information from the slidable sheet (5) of a RIM cassette (2). The information included on the sheet, used especially in X-ray photography, is read from the sheet surface drawn out of the cassette with the aid of a laser beam focused on it, after which the sheet is emptied of information with the aid of a powerful light and returned to the cassette. According to the invention, the reading is effected during the linear withdrawal of the slidable sheet (5) in the reading position (9) past which the sheet surface including the information is guided, and the removal of the information is effected during the linear return travel of the slidable sheet in the emptying position (10) past which the sheet surface travels while the sheet is being pushed back into the cassette (2).

Abstract: The polymerization of certain alpha-olefins in a gas phase involves the problem of agglomeration of the product into particles disadvantageous from the viewpoint of its handling. In the present invention this problem has been solved by means of a new type of process for the homo- or copolymerization of alpha-olefins. In the process the catalyst system is pretreated by contacting and reacting a transition-metal compound which is solid or on a solid carrier with an organoaluminum compound, and possibly an electron donor, in a liquid medium, and by drying the thus formed reaction product to produce a solid catalyst system. The thus pretreated solid and active catalyst system is then fed together with an alpha-olefin in the gaseous state into a gas-phase reactor, and polymerization is carried out by contacting them with each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a conductive polymer composite wherein the internally conductive polymer component consists of a polymer of a 3-substituted thiophene, the polymer being doped with a suitable electron acceptor or electron emitter compound. The polymer composite is prepared by processing in molten state by various methods such as extrusion molding, injection molding, compression molding, or sheet blowing, together with a suitable polymer matrix, to form a homogenous composite.
