    Abstract: Portable trussed adapter frames are removably coupled to the ends of a standard 20 ft. intermodal container to extend it to an effective length of 40 ft. whereby the container can be carried on a skeletal chassis without the necessity of providing separate specialized chassis equipment for 20 ft. containers carrying dry freight or liquid commodities.
