    Abstract: Apparatus for measuring stress distribution across the width of a flexible strip travelling in the direction of its length, comprising a pick-up deflector roller having a plurality of rings, encased in a tire of flexible material, the edges of the rings being cut away to produce local stress in the tire as compared with a smooth cylindrical roller.
