Abstract: Hearing-protector plug made of plug material in which there is distributed a detectable material in powder form, particularly iron powder. If lost, such as in the food industry, the plug can be traced with the aid of detection equipment.

Abstract: An ear defender which comprises two ear plugs (11) each of which is connected to a respective end of a cord (20). Each plug (11) includes a plug-part (10) which is provided with a recess (18) for a cord locking sleeve which coacts with a respective plug-part. The locking sleeve (12) is slotted from its front end in the plug-part so as to form two identical sleeve-parts (24). These are joined together at the rear end of the locking sleeve (12) by at least one hinge or web part (26) formed integrally with the locking sleeve. A length of the end of the cord extends into a channel (32) in the sleeve through an opening provided in the vicinity of the hinge part. The cord end is secured in the channel (32), by pressing the sleeve parts into firm engagement with the cord end within the recess (18).

Abstract: Headgear for mounting protective equipment such as a visor is disclosed as including a head band and a crown band. The head band includes a brow band section, side band sections and a neck band section. The side band sections are curved upwardly and incline inwardly such that the neck band section is positioned lower than the brow band section when the headgear is worn. The sections of the side bands that are inclined are reinforced at a top edge of the side band portions.

Abstract: A coating slip and a method of coating a fibrous sheet material are disclosed. The coating slip comprises60-90% by weight pigment consisting of a mixture of talc and soapstone,10-50% by weight anionic polyelectrolyte,0-5% by weight thickener, andwater in an amount such that the dry solids content of the coating slip will be 60-95% by weight. The weight ratio of talc:soapstone is preferably from about 30:70 to about 70:30, and the talc preferably has a mean particle diameter of about 10-20 .mu.m, while the soapstone preferably has a mean particle diameter of about 5-10 .mu.m. Upon coating, the sheet material is coated on one or both of its sides with preferably about 30-100 g dry material per square meter and side.

Abstract: An earmuff (10) has a sealing ring (20) with an outer liquid layer (38) and a foamed plastics layer (36) thereinunder. The liquid layer is arranged as a separate, annular, sheath-equipped liquid ring (38) the sheath (40) of which can move freely relative the sheath (30,32) of the sealing ring (20).

Abstract: An earplug device includes a headband with earplugs attached to the ends thereof. The earplugs have a head portion and a shank portion, the latter with its rear end joined to the associated headband end. The shank portion has a stiffened middle section and is articulately connected on either side thereof respectively to the head portion and headband end to form a doubly articulated shank configuration. The head portion is thus given the opportunity of coacting in the best possible way with the auditory canal of an ear, and to a substantial degree independently of the attitude of the headband.

Abstract: An earplug comprising a stem portion and a front portion mounted on the stem portion. The front portion is conically shaped and disposed such that the inner surface of the front portion is spaced from the stem portion. At least one spacing member may be provided which is adapted to space the interior surface of the front portion from the stem portion.The earplug may further comprise an axial bore therein adapted to receive a cord such that two of the earplugs may be connected by the cord so as to form a set.
