  • Patent number: 7602112
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly of a capped high-pressure discharge lamp (1) and a lamp holder (50). The discharge lamp comprises an outer envelope (10) in which a discharge vessel (11) is arranged. The outer envelope has a pinched portion (20) provided with a clamping member (25). A lamp cap comprises a substantially circular-cylindrical cup shaped portion for receiving the clamping member and is provided with a protruding collar (36). The lamp holder (50) comprises a substantially circular-cylindrical flange (55) for receiving the cup-shaped portion such that the flange engages the protruding collar. An inner diameter of the flange (55) has a tolerance of less than or equal to ?0.2 mm. An outer diameter of the cup-shaped portion (33) has a tolerance of less than or equal to +0.2 mm. The respective tolerances extend over a length of at least 2.5 mm, measured with respect to the protruding collar.

  • Patent number: 7422341
Abstract: An electrical light has a tubular sheet-metal housing centered generally on an axis and formed with a plurality of angularly spaced, radially inwardly projecting, and radially elastically deflectable spring tongues. A socket in the housing holds a light bulb. A cup-shaped glass lens has a dome formed with a generally cylindrical collar dimensioned to fit into the housing with the dome fitting over a light bulb in the socket. The collar is formed with a plurality of angularly spaced and radially outwardly open L-shaped grooves each fittable with a respective one of the tongues. Each groove has an axially extending and open leg and an angularly extending leg. The angularly extending legs each have an outer flank and an inner flank between the respective outer flank and the dome.

  • Patent number: 7325965
Abstract: A lamp has a polygonal-section plug part extending along an axis and having at least one radially outwardly directed face formed with a radially outwardly projecting retaining bump. A socket has a core body formed with a polygonal-section socket hole complementary to the plug part and into which the plug part can be fitted axially in an installed position and that substantially completely prevents angular displacement of the plug part relative to the core body in the installed position. A sleeve surrounds the core body and can angularly shift relative thereto between a freeing end position and a blocking end position. The sleeve is formed with a radially inwardly projecting retaining formation that, in the installed position of the plug part, is angularly offset from the bump in the freeing position and that operatively engages and blocks axial displacement of the bump in the blocking position.

  • Patent number: 7247040
Abstract: A lampholder has an inner part centered on an axis and formed with a radially extending and axially open inner slot having a predetermined small width. It also has an outer part surrounding the inner part and formed relative to the axis with a radially extending and axially open outer slot of a predetermined large width. A lamp pin of a width greater than the small width but smaller than the large width cannot slide through the outer slot into the inner slot. The inner part is separable from the outer part.

  • Patent number: 7153151
Abstract: A lampholder having an inner part and an outer part is formed relative to an axis with a radially extending and axially open slot in turn having an inner portion in the inner part and an outer portion in the outer part. The portions are alignable with each other and both have a predetermined large width. An adapter has a body shaped to fit with one of the lampholder parts and having a formation engaged in the respective slot portion to define therein an adapter slot aligned with the respective slot portion and of a small width substantially less than the predetermined large width so that a lamp pin of a width greater than the small width but smaller than the large width cannot slide through the one slot portion. The adapter body is fixed to the one part of the lampholder.

  • Patent number: 6890199
Abstract: A socket for a bipin lamp has a relatively stationary body, a pair of contacts in the body symmetrically flanking an axis of the body, and a rotor formed with an axially open and generally diametrally extending slot and pivotal on the body about the axis between an outwardly open position and a crosswise position. Pins of the lamp are insertable into the slot and engageable with the contacts in the crosswise position. An operating part has a disk fixed to the rotor and formed with a slot aligned axially with the rotor slot and an arm fixed on and projecting radially from the disk past the lamp when the pins are in the slots. Thus a user can fit the lamp pins to the slots and pivot the rotor between the positions by the arm to engage the pins with the contacts.

  • Patent number: 6692308
Abstract: A lampholder has a socket having an inner end, formed with seats adapted to hold contacts, and forming an outwardly open hole defining an axis and adapted to fit with a base of a high-voltage lamp and a base fittable against the inner end and having a floor formed with an axially throughgoing hole. A clip is formed with a bight engaged in the hole, a pair of arms extending from respective ends of the bight axially outward into the socket, outer tabs on the arms bearing axially inward on the socket, and inner tabs at the bight bearing axially outward on the floor of the base so that the clip holds the socket and base together.

  • Patent number: 6648691
Abstract: A lampholder has a socket having an inner end and formed with an outwardly open lamp seat defining an axis and adapted to fit with a base of a high-voltage lamp and with a pair of inwardly open blind contact holes. A base fitted against the inner end and formed at the contact holes with respective contact seats has a floor formed in line with each contact hole with an axially throughgoing aperture. Respective contacts in the contact seats are each formed with an abutment arm extending along a wall of the respective contact hole and a spring arm extending into the respective contact hole and elastically deformable from a rest position closely juxtaposed with the respective abutment arm to a holding position spaced therefrom. Thus a conductor pushed through one of the apertures into the respective contact hole will wedge between the contact arms.

  • Patent number: 6626707
Abstract: A lampholder has an outer sleeve centered on an axis and having a radially inwardly projecting lug having an axially inwardly directed end face and an inner core adapted to fit with a lamp, fittable inside the sleeve, and formed with an axially inwardly directed face axially alignable and engageable with the outer-sleeve end face on rotation of the core in the sleeve in a predetermined sense in a fully inserted position of the inner core in the sleeve. Interengageable retaining formations on the core and on the sleeve inhibit rotation of the core in the sleeve opposite to the predetermined sense when the faces are axially aligned with and engage each other.
