Abstract: A hand dryer with a housing in which a cavity accessible from outside through a housing opening is formed for accommodating hands to be dried by means of an airflow, and with a device for generating the airflow, as well as a device for generating UV radiation comprising at least one lamp that emits light in the ultraviolet wavelength range, which is arranged in the housing in such a manner that it emits UV radiation into the cavity. The device for generating UV radiation is designed in such a manner that the UV radiation emitted into the cavity with a wavelength in the range from 228 to 380 nm has a maximum intensity of 20% of the intensity of the UV radiation emitted into the cavity with a wavelength in the range from 200 to 380 nm.

Abstract: A socket assembly for receiving a lamp with a pinch seal and a connecting pin led out therethrough is provided having an outer housing part with an essentially cylindrical cavity which is accessible from outside via a slotted opening extending in a longitudinal direction of the outer housing part, an inner part mounted for rotation about a rotation axis (R) inside the outer housing part and including a free space which is configured for receiving the pinch seal and the connecting pin and is accessible from outside, and two opposed leaf springs for fixation of the pinch seal in the free space.

Abstract: A lighting device, having a tubular lamp, on each end of which a terminal socket is provided, which has a terminal for electrical contacting of the lamp, and two terminal receptacles associated with the terminal sockets, each having a metal terminal clamp for receiving one of the terminals of the terminal socket, wherein the terminal for the electrical contacting is a strip-shaped metal terminal tab and the terminal clamp has two opposing springy contact surfaces for clamping the terminal tab between them, and wherein opposing front sides of terminal socket and terminal receptacle are adapted to engage in one another in a form-fitting way in an installed state by providing a projection and a depression complementary thereto.

Abstract: A mercury-free metal halide high pressure discharge lamp having a transparent and gastight sealed discharge vessel and two electrodes which protrude into the discharge vessel and are arranged in the discharge vessel opposite one another, with the discharge vessel being filled with a lamp filling which has: at least one noble gas, at least the elements of iron and zinc, as well as at least one halide, with the halide comprising bromide, and with the percentage of the bromide being at least 14 mole percent of the total halogen quantity and the following relationship applying to the ratio of molar density of zinc D in ?mol/cm3 and electric field strength E in V/cm between the electrodes: 0.005?D/E?0.200.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gas discharge lamp having a gas discharge tube, which is at least partly surrounded by a transparent protective bulb, the latter having a bursting guard. The protective bulb is designed as a completely closed envelope bulb, which surrounds in vacuum-tight manner the gas discharge tube. The bursting guard also completely envelops the envelope bulb.

Abstract: A bayonet base or pedestal for a lamp or reflector which is constituted of a base member which is insertable into a bayonet socket; on which member there is arranged a socket or mounting for the lamp or the reflector, at least two terminal contact elements, and at least one latch for the locking thereof in the bayonet socket. The base or pedestal member is constructed unitarily or from a single-piece constituted of an electrically non-conductive material.
