  • Publication number: 20040036209
Abstract: An independent motor/reductor drives a conveyance device that feeds a converting press. The converting press includes a number of stations including a feeding station, a converting station, a waste stripping station and a delivery station. The conveyance device services the stations and includes two endless gripper bar chains to convey sheet material through the converting press. A transverse drive shaft drives the conveyance device under the control of the independent motor/reductor. The independent motor/reductor provides motion trajectories for the conveyance device that are independent of, but synchronized with, the serviced stations. The arrangement improves throughput, reduces machine wear and results in a simplified design.

  • Patent number: 6672582
Abstract: A device for stacking sheets delivered on a first conveyor in a plurality of parallel streams of overlapping sheets, includes a second conveyor moving slower than the first conveyor that compacts the streams as they exit the first conveyor; a third conveyor that receives the streams from the second conveyor; and a plurality of stackers, each aligned with one of the streams exiting the third conveyor, formed of endless belts positionable horizontally which cooperate with stop members to stack the incoming sheets. Completed stacks are then moved downstream on the belt. When sheets in a stream are determined to be defective; its belt for that stream is tilted, and the stream falls onto a fourth conveyor for disposal.

  • Publication number: 20030188954
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying blanks or sheets that are arranged in piles includes a frame that has an input and an output and a pre-section that aligns the piles of blanks along a longitudinal conveying path. The pile of blanks is conveyed to a turn-over grip that swivels around the horizontal axis that extends transversely to the longitudinal conveying path. The turn-over grip includes two conveying units that are juxtaposed to one another with one of them being used to deliver the piles entering the turn-over grip and the other which is used to remove the piles after the turn-over grip has turned the pile upside down. A tightening mechanism presses one of the conveying units towards the other during the rotation of the turn-over grip. A pusher carriage is situated between the two conveying units and driven by a motor.

  • Patent number: 6606947
Abstract: A device for processing of printing defects detected in a printing machine which in a first phase delivers a printed support. The printing defects (20, 21, 22) on the support (1) are detected in a detection station. A database connected to the detection station can simultaneously store information relating to each detected printing defect. The processing device connected to the database can, in a second phase, process the stored information in order to evaluate the quality of overall printing of the printed support and can use various possible scenarios, even before the support (1) is cut in a third phase, to define all those portions (23) of the support which should be removed in order to improve the final quality of the printed product within the limit of a restriction in the number of portions which it has been agreed to cut out.
