A device for combining cards and card supports and/or for sorting and/or handling cards use a card-specific database containing information sorted according to types and styles of cards, and uses visual information and/or location information relating to assemblies of the card of at least one card type and/or a card style. The device has a reversible intermediate memory with at least one intermediate storage station. The database contains card-specific information relating to a stored card in the intermediate memory location, and a magazine for cards with at least one input and/or output and having a card memory having a plurality of card locations. The card locations relative to the input and/or output can be displaced by a drive.

Abstract: A method for opening an envelope throat of an envelope transported along an envelope channel dependably opens the envelope throat of the envelope during insertion in an inserter. The envelope, in order to open the envelope throat, is first over-pressed against a counter-pressure and then the counter-pressure is released to open the envelope throat, and/or the envelope is over-pressed against the hold-down force that holds the envelope down on an envelope transport, in order to open the envelope throat. For this purpose, an inserter inserts one or more items into an envelope moving along an envelope channel.

Abstract: A device for rotating flat products, in particular sheets or stacks of sheets, moved in a first direction from a first orientation into a second orientation, by a predetermined total rotation angle, by means of a first rotating device, in which the product is rotated first by a first rotation angle, and by means of at least one second rotating device, in which the product is later rotated by a second rotation angle. Abstract: In a method for cutting a paper web during movement of the same for generating a plurality of individual sheets for processing by a paper handling plant, the paper web is driven at a high web speed. The cutter is driven to cut the moving paper web into the individual sheets. The paper web can be stopped between successive cuts in a controlled manner.

Abstract: A device including a printer with a print head for printing an imprint containing a first printing area with a security imprint (such as a franking mark), and a second printing area with a text or image imprint on mailpieces. The print head has at least two printing nozzles, of which a first printing nozzle is connected to a first printing supply and a second printing nozzle is connected to a second printing supply. An ink suitable for a security imprint is contained in the first printing supply, and a conventional printing ink is contained in the second printing supply. In the related method, the entire imprint, which contains a first printing area with a security imprint and a second printing area with a text or image imprint, is printed onto the mailpiece in a single print run.
