Patents Assigned to Bollinger Industries, L.P.
  • Patent number: 6217489
Abstract: The invention described in the specification relates to a heavy bag for use in training a boxer and to a method for filling the bag. The bag has a substantially cylindrical outer shell made from a fabric-like material, the shell having closed ends. A shredded rubber material fills the bag and provides the bag with sufficient weight for punching and sparring training activities. Use of the shredded rubber material to fill the bag not only permits significant improvement in the bag filling operation but also provides increased durability, improved impact absorbing characteristics and less permanent deformation of the bag during use.

  • Patent number: 6179748
Abstract: A doorway mounted chin-up bar has a rod with an interior tube that is telescopically received within a rotating sleeve. A mount is positioned on each end of the rod for securing the rod to a doorjamb. A pair of U-shaped extension bars extend outward and upward from the rod. Each of the extension bars have first and second ends that extend out of planes that are defined by the doorway in first and second directions, respectively. A first hand-grip bar is affixed to the first ends of the extension bars and a second hand-grip bar is affixed to the second ends of the extension bars. When a user grasps the first hand-grip bar and pulls down, the extension bars pivot about the rod until the second hand-grip bar engages a wall surface above the doorway. The user may engage in chin-ups while being supported by the first hand-grip bar. Alternatively, a user may grasp the second hand-grip bar and pull down until the first hand-grip bar engages a wall surface above the doorway.

  • Patent number: 6117052
Abstract: An aerobic exercise device for performing lateral swinging or swaying motions is disclosed. The device has a base with an upright tubular steel frame and integral handles. A swing assembly or pendulum is pivotally suspended from an upper portion of the frame. The pendulum comprises a pair of vertical bars which are pivotally joined to a short horizontal bar at their lower ends. A pair of foot pad assemblies are pivotally mounted to the horizontal bar. Each foot pad has a shock absorber mounted between it and its adjacent vertical bar for creating resistance to the motion of the pendulum. The user grips the a handle with each hand and places one foot on each foot pad. By moving the legs and lower torso from side to side, the user can exercise by swaying or swinging the pendulum from side to side while the frame remains stationary.
