Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing material into a container has a base, which can be coupled to the container, and a rotatable portion that is mounted to the base and rotatable about an axis of rotation. The rotatable portion includes a storage compartment for storing the material. The storage compartment has a dispensing aperture of which at least a portion of the periphery extends in a direction non-perpendicular relative to the axis of rotation. The dispensing aperture is positioned such that the material stored in the storage compartment falls into the container when the dispensing aperture is uncovered. A pierceable membrane is sealed along the periphery of the dispensing aperture. A piercer, which forms part of the base, is offset from the axis of rotation and is positioned to pierce the membrane from the outside of the storage compartment during a full rotation of the rotatable portion.

The base can be coupled to the container, and includes a storage compartment that has a cover that retains the material in the storage compartment when closed and that is positioned to release the material into the container when opened and when the base is coupled to the container. The rotatable portion includes a cover displacer that is inserted into the storage compartment and that is rotatable from a storage position in which the cover displacer and the cover are positioned such that the cover is closed, to a dispensing position in which the cover displacer has displaced the cover such that the cover is opened. The cover is oblique relative to the axis of rotation.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed at a bulk material dispenser for dispensing bulk material stored in a container. In one form, the dispenser responds to an axial force applied along its longitudinal axis and dispenses a measured dose of the bulk material. In another form, the dispenser responds to a rotational force applied about its longitudinal axis and dispenses a measured dose of the bulk material. The dispenser includes a doser, which determines the amount of the bulk material to dispense, and a doser cover, which is movable between loading and dispensing positions. When in the loading position, the doser cover is positioned so that the bulk material can enter, but cannot exit, the doser. When in the dispensing position, the doser cover is moved so that the bulk material can exit the doser and be dispensed.
