  • Patent number: 6966939
Abstract: The invention describes a multi-layer filter structure and the use of a multi-layer filter structure for the dust removal from gases, wherein a coarse dust filter layer, a fine dust filter layer, and a support layer are disposed behind one another in the direction from the inflow side to the outflow side, and which is designed such that the fiber diameter distribution within the coarse dust filter layer and fine dust filter layer has a gradient, and that the fiber diameters of the coarse dust filter layer and fine dust filter layer continually decrease from the inflow side to the outflow side. This multi-layer filter structure may be used in a filter cassette for industrial dust removal, as well as in a stationary or mobile home dust cleaning device.

  • Patent number: 6136056
Abstract: A connection member for a filter bag for vacuum cleaning equipment. The member has a base with two superposed base layers of stiff material which together define a first passage opening. A slide element, located between the two layers of the base, has a second passage opening therein which in an initial position is aligned with the first passage opening. By pulling on a handle portion of the slide element, the first passage opening is closed by a closure element that is connected to the slide element. The closure element, in the initial position, is in the form of a strand of incompletely cured plastic material. Upon application of a tensile force, the strand is adapted to plastically deform. The plastic material furthermore adheres on the one side to the slide element and on an opposed side to the base. Upon movement of the slide element into the closed position, the material is adapted to stretch in the longitudinal direction and to be drawn out as a diaphragm closing the first passage opening.

  • Patent number: 6073302
Abstract: A detection means for filter means in vacuum cleaners, into which in addition to a vacuum cleaner bag at least one additional filter is able to be inserted. It comprises a sensor means responsive to the filter means inserted into said vacuum cleaner and switch means controlled by said sensor means for preventing switching of the vacuum cleaner motor if said filter means is not correctly recognized. The at least one electronic sensor means responsive to a detectable element in or on at least one additional filter by means of electromagnetic waves is connected with the switching means via an evaluating or processing means, adapted to check the correct position and design of the at least one detectable element.

  • Patent number: 5907886
Abstract: A detector device for filter bags in vacuum cleaners which comprises a sensor device adapted to sense a tabular or plate-like connection member of such vacuum cleaner filter bag and switching means controlled by the sensor device for preventing switching-on of the motor of the vacuum cleaner if the connection member is not properly detected. The electronic sensor device is adapted to sense at least one detectable element in or on the connection member by electromagnetic waves and is connected with the switching means by a processing device for checking the correct position and correct type of the at least one detectable element. This means that it is not only possible to check for the presence of a filter bag in the vacuum cleaner but furthermore to discriminate whether same is correctly fitted and is of the right type for the said vacuum cleaner so that impairment of and damage to the vacuum cleaner by mounting the wrong type of filter bag is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5472460
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner filter bag has a connection member with an essentially tabular, board-like, stiff main body, which has a fitting opening for fitting on a vacuum cleaner connector tube. The main body guides a closing slide with a passage opening, which by way of a handle part is able to be moved out from an open position clearing the fitting opening into the closed position. The main body is divided into a holding ring surrounding the fitting opening on the outer side of the connection member and a closing slide guide: part constituted by the rest of the main body, the holding ring and the closing slide guide part being connected together at an attachment joint while being otherwise separate or separable from each other. In the position of use, with the connection member seated on the connector tube, the closing slide guide part is able to be pivoted away from the connector tube so that the closing slide comes clear of the connector tube and is able to be drawn into its closed setting.

  • Patent number: 5472465
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner filter bag has a connection member, whose side edge parts are adapted to be inserted into holding grooves in the vacuum cleaner. A substantially tabular or plate-like, board-like, stiff main body of the connection member possesses a fitting opening for fitting same onto the connector tube of a vacuum cleaner. The main body carries and guides a closing slide with a passage opening, which is able to be drawn out from an open position clearing the fitting opening into a closed setting by way of a handle part. On the side edge parts there is respectively a holding rail able to be inserted into the adjacent vacuum cleaner groove, such holding rail extending from the front to the rear as far as a rail attachment point. The holding rails are connected with the main body at the rail attachment point but otherwise separated or separable from the same.

  • Patent number: 5468272
Abstract: A filter bag for a vacuum cleaner possesses a substantially plate-shaped connection member with a stationary two-part base body and a sliding door arranged between the two layers of the base body. The layers of the base body have aligned passage openings and the sliding door has a through opening, which in the open position of the sliding door is aligned with the passage openings. In the closed position the sliding door shuts off the passage openings. The base body has at least one abutment element, which fits into an abutment recess in the sliding door, the rim of the abutment recess constituting a terminal abutment striking against the abutment element at least in the closed position of the sliding door.

  • Patent number: 5158635
Abstract: A connecting member for filter bags or the like used for collecting dust has a main body secured to the filter bag, which main body has a multi-ply structure of board or cardboard. The main body has a passageway therethrough for facilitating the passage of dust into the filter bag. A slide gate is arranged on the main body between two plies of the main body and a handle thereon projects laterally beyond the main body and is movable between a moved in position leaving the passage opening uncovered and a moved out position shutting it. The main body is folded from a single piece of material cutout along preset fold lines. The plies of the main body placed on top of each other after folding are bonded together. The slide gate is at least partly a component of the cutout and is connected with the rest of the cutout via preset tear lines so that the slide gate may be torn off to the side after folding and bonding.
