Patents Assigned to Bridgeport Chemical Corporation
  • Patent number: 4144988
Abstract: A piston, lead screw, dispenser rear end wall and twistable projection are assembled together. On the filling line, tubes each with a dispenser spout at one end, are filled through the opposite end and closed by securing the rear end wall of the assembly to the tube as a closure for the open end. In one embodiment the tube and end wall are made of plastic material and the securement is by ultrasonic welding; in another, the tube is of foil/fiber composite, the end wall is of metal and the securement is accomplished by crimping. When the dispenser tip is opened, rotatably twisting the lead screw projection in one angular sense will advance the piston and discharge the tube's filling of caulking compound or the like, that is contained between the piston and the spout.

  • Patent number: 3952920
Abstract: Two dispensing cylinders are secured in side-by-side relation and have pistons whose rods protrude through one end of the cylinders and are yoked together outside the package. A threaded nut is formed in that one end of the package, between the cylinders, and receives a threaded operator. The operator protrudes through an opening in the yoke, which provides a bearing, and is equipped with a handwheel. As the handwheel is turned, the threaded rod is pulled through the nut, consequently advancing both pistons. The threaded rod enters a pocket between the cylinders and the pistons and piston rods are not required to rotate as they are advanced. The package is preferably marked to correlate the amount of product dispensed with the extent of turning of the handwheel.
