  • Patent number: 9071317
Abstract: According to one exemplary embodiment, a transceiver for nullification of a noise component in a transmitter comprises a noise nullification module loading a selected node in the transmitter. The noise nullification module comprises a mixer that receives inputs from the selected node and a local oscillator, where the mixer is also coupled to a filter such that the noise nullification module presents a low impedance at an approximate frequency of a noise component so as to nullify the noise component. In one embodiment, the noise nullification module results in band-pass filtering of an approximate receive signal frequency so as to nullify a noise component at the receive frequency. In another embodiment, the noise nullification module results in notch filtering of an approximate transmit signal frequency so as to nullify a noise component at a receive signal frequency.

Abstract: For determining paths in the scope of a multipath search, a device for use in a wireless communications system performs: obtaining a delay profile of a code division multiple access transmission signal, the delay profile being in a form of complex symbols, each complex symbols resulting from a despreading of said received signal after being delayed by a distinct delay; comparing the real part of said complex symbols forming the delay profile with a first threshold, the first threshold being determined on the basis of a noise level determined by the imaginary part of said complex symbols forming the delay profile; and determining said paths on the basis of the comparing.

  • Publication number: 20140094183
Abstract: There is provided a mechanism for allocating communication resources of a cellular communication network to a D2D communication. After an eNB has configured a number of resource pools indicating a set of resources usable in the D2D communication, D2D clusters which share a same resource pool are enabled to obtain resources for their respective D2D communication. By detecting the current resource utilization state in the allocated resource pool by measurement on the UE side, it is decided whether suitable resources are available or not. An overload situation is signalled to the eNB if no suitable resource can be detected.

  • Publication number: 20140044189
Abstract: A method for reducing memory bandwidth in a video decoder begins by performing a data reduction operation on a decoded first coded image to produce a second set of image data. The second set of image data stored and is selectively used for subsequent image decoding, thereby reducing the memory bandwidth. The data reduction operation can include image downsampling, wherein the pixel density is reduced by a factor of two in each of the vertical and horizontal directions.

  • Patent number: 7924292
Abstract: A circuit and method for reducing artifacts in decoded color video and images are disclosed. The circuit includes a buffer for receiving an input pixel in a first color-space, and a detector for determining after transformation into a second color-space, if at least one component of the transformed pixel would fall outside a predetermined range. The determination may be made by comparing components of the input pixel, to corresponding ranges in the first color-space. Upon determining that at least one component of the transformed pixel would be outside a corresponding predetermined bound in the second color-space, the detector causes the circuit to output a pixel in the first color-space, with at least one predetermined component. The output of the circuit may subsequently be converted to the second color-space by an external color-space converter and displayed onto a color display. The method reduces visible artifacts caused by clipping during color-space conversion.

  • Patent number: 7010535
Abstract: A network device including a memory, a queue management unit, a memory management unit, and a search switching unit. The memory includes a plurality of memory banks. The queue management unit is configured to receive a plurality of search requests and to prioritize the search requests. The memory management unit is coupled to the queue management unit and the memory, and is configured to initiate a plurality of binary searches based on the plurality of search requests. Each binary search is executed simultaneously in different banks of the plurality of memory banks. The search switching unit is coupled to the memory and the memory management unit, and is configured to switch each binary search from one memory bank of to another memory bank after a predetermined number of search steps are performed by each binary search.
