Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a boom arrangement and a personnel hoist, and associated method of use. The boom arrangement includes a boom, a man cage, a pivoting frame connected to the boom, a base for supporting the arrangement and a turning joint for turning the pivoting frame. A mechanical parting joint allows the boom arrangement to be divided into two boom units. The parting joint is located in a section between a lower end of the boom and the base, and the parting joint is separate from the turning joint.
Abstract: A method for fire-fighting, a rescue boom and a nozzle of a piercing tool. A rescue boom is provided with an elongated piercing tool that can be pushed through a shell of a burning object. A fire extinguishing medium can be conveyed through the piercing tool to a nozzle provided in the piercing tool. The nozzle is provided with orifices arranged such that single jets form a single uniform jet having a flat curtain-like shape.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for punching a piercing tool through a wall shell structure and for feeding fire-retardant medium to the object on fire. At the outermost end of the rescue boom (3), according to the invention, there is a piercing device (6) which comprises an elongated piercing tool (7) provided with at least one longitudinal channel for supplying the fire-retardant medium to the nozzles of the tool (7) and further to the object on fire. The piercing device (6) comprises an actuator for advancing the piercing tool (7) through the shell structure (8) by a longitudinal movement.
