Patents Assigned to Brown Company
  • Patent number: 11142382
Abstract: In a continuous roll of wrapping material for crops such as cotton or hay, or other objects, the individual wrapping segments are arranged so that a closing adhesive is part of a sealing accessory and otherwise protected by other structures of the sealing accessory until the point when this closing adhesive is to be exposed for securing a wrapping segment to itself, for example when encircling a subject bale harvested from a field, wherein adjacent wrapping segments separate from each other either at a point of weakness associated with perforations and the like.

  • Patent number: 10787335
Abstract: The current disclosure involves the arrangement and efficient deployment of self-adhering flexible sheet material in individual segments to encircle a bale of harvested material and isolate it from the wind, precipitation, and other elements as it remains in the field following the formation of the bale attendant with harvesting of the crop, until collected for further processing. For use with harvested crops such as cotton or hay, the individual wrapping segments further comprise adhering members, which cause a portion of a wrapping segment, generally found at what is considered a trailing end during a wrapping cycle, to releasably attach to adhering members on an opposite surface of the same wrapping segment.

  • Patent number: 10710786
Abstract: Improved object wrapping materials exhibiting a number of beneficial properties to overcome prior deficiencies are provided. Such properties include the inclusion of a separation interface overlay that allows for greater rigidity at the leading and trailing edges of such wraps. Also, the inclusion of shear-reducing wrap material portions is described, as well as recoil reduction structures within the leading edge regions. Furthermore, core adhesive additions allow for greater resiliency to the base wrap material as it unwinds therefrom, reducing potential waste wrap products by permitting greater amounts of wrap materials in use. Other considerations include the ability, through proper configuration designs, to position a wrap separation indicator within a certain range of distances from the trailing edge, thereby providing greater reliability of wrap application device disengagement during wrap application.

  • Patent number: 10264732
Abstract: In a continuous roll of wrapping material for crops such as cotton or hay, the individual wrapping segments are arranged so that a permanent adhesive is protected until the point when this adhesive is to be exposed for securing a wrapping segment to itself, encircling a subject bale located in and harvested from a field, wherein the contiguous wrapping segments separate from each other either at a point of weakness associated with perforations and the like, or as overlaid segments that slidably come apart.

  • Patent number: 9795252
Abstract: A roller grill cover having: an elongated body that extends over the length of the grill rollers and which includes a pair of arms for engaging the top of the sides of the roller grill to provide stability for the cover; a front flange is angled downwardly from the front end of the body to limit a consumer's view of the rollers (and their contents) underneath and behind the flange. The body may include a rear flange that extends upwardly to provide access to the rollers behind the front flange for product placement and removal. The front flange may include a mirror finish or other reflective materials to allow the food items on the front rollers to be reflected off of the flange to give the visual appearance that there are more food items then actually shown.

  • Patent number: 8485093
Abstract: A heat application apparatus includes a longitudinally split cylinder that may be disposed about a section of a suspension bridge cable or similar tubular article. The cylinder is split into two essentially identical semi-cylindrical halves which are pivotally connected by an elongate hinge. A plurality of toggle clamps are arranged transversely across the opens ends of the halves and may be engaged to positively connect and lock the edges together. On each of the inner faces of the halves is secured a semi-cylindrical air bladder. The bladders are covered by a flexible heat blanket having a uniformly distributed electrical resistance heating element. Independent air pressure regulators which are supplied with compressed air provide air at low pressure to the bladders and a suitable electrical connector all reside on the exterior of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8100602
Abstract: A machine or apparatus for installing resilient or elastomeric strip seals of indefinite length in expansion joints in, for example, highways and bridges. The machine includes an open, upper frame connected to a lower frame supported at its four corners by four freely rotating wheels. A pair of clamping pistons on the lower frame includes rollers which are adjusted to engage one face of the expansion joint. A toothed wheel or blade rotates about an inclined axis and is powered by a motor through a speed reducing gearbox. The toothed wheel engages the seal and forces it into a channel on the side of the expansion joint opposite to the side engaged by the rollers.
