For example, recycled roofing shingles and used motor oil can be mixed according to a ratio of about 9:1 to about 20:1. The compound is suitable for patching surfaces, such as roads, and can be placed in service without heating. The asphalt cold-patch compound can be made from recycled materials and can be applied without specialized heating equipment.
