Abstract: A process for inhibiting the adhesion of bacterial cells to solid surfaces in aqueous systems and thus controlling biological fouling comprising adding a water-soluble ionene polymer to the aqueous systems in an amount ranging from about 0.5 ppm to about 50 ppm based on the weight of aqueous liquid in the system.
