Patents Assigned to Bulova Watch Co., Inc.
  • Patent number: 4825427
Abstract: A wrist watch and bracelet assembly in which the case is of bipartite construction and is formed by a base section adapted to accommodate a watch movement and an ornamental face section that is readily replaceable by a face section having a different ornamental display, whereby the decorative appearance of the watch may readily be changed. The base section is provided at either end with a pair of pierced ears that project forwardly from the corners, while the face section which is seated on the base section is provided at either end with an array of equi-spaced lugs having holes therein which register with those in the ears so that by inserting a cross pin through the holes to bridge the ears and the lugs, the two sections are then interlocked.

  • Patent number: 4757486
Abstract: A metal watch case and metal bracelet assembly in which the tail ends of the bracelet components are attachable to the complementary ends of the case in a manner simulating a "soldered look," yet these components may readily be detached to replace the bracelet. The case has a frame-like form defined by a pair of opposing side legs and a pair of opposing end legs, each end leg having a slot indented therein at its rear. The rear of the case is depressed along its inner periphery to form a socket for accommodating the watch movement so that its dial is exposed at the front of the case. Attached to the tail of each bracelet component is a connector having a hook projecting therefrom that is received in the slot of the related end leg. Snap fitting into the socket behind the movement is a cover plate having a marginal flange that overlies the slots of the end legs of the case to entrap the hooks of the bracelet components, whereby to detach these components from the case one has only to unsnap the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 4664533
Abstract: A metal watch case and metal bracelet assembly in which the tail ends of the bracelet components are attachable to the complementary ends of the case in a manner simulating a "soldered look," yet these components may readily be detached to replace the bracelet. The case which is adapted to accommodate the watch movement has straight ends each provided with a longitudinal keyway defined by parallel ridges, one of which has a midpoint gap therein occupied by a projecting tab. Each bracelet component terminates in a split tail pin which is slidable into the keyway at the complementary end of the case and is locked therein by the tab which when bent down extends into the mid space between the half pieces of the pin.

  • Patent number: 4371269
Abstract: A d-c converter for inclusion in a miniature electronic device, such as an electronic wristwatch having a d-c supply source, the converter functioning to increase or decrease the voltage of this source. The converter includes a transformer whose primary is connected to the source through a periodically-actuated chopper to produce an alternating voltage, the secondary of the transformer being connected to a rectifier circuit having at least one controllable switch element whose on-off state is governed in synchronism with the chopper whereby the switch element acts to rectify the secondary voltage.

  • Patent number: 4320477
Abstract: An energy system for powering an electronic watch having a digital or analog time display, the system comprising a primary power source, such as a thermoelectric generator or solar cell, whose output is fed to an energy converter to produce an operating voltage for the electronic circuits and time display of the watch. The system further includes a buffer accumulator that is charged by the energy converter and acts to maintain the operation voltage when the primary source is inactive, thereby providing an uninterrupted supply of operating voltage. The watch also includes a status indicator which senses the prevailing condition of the energy system to produce a signal indicative thereof perceptible to the user of the watch.
