  • Publication number: 20190174861
Abstract: A helmet that includes vents in the shell and removable plugs that may be positioned in the vents to provide an airtight seal while maintaining the aerodynamic shape of the helmet. The vent has an outer vent opening in the outer wall surface of the shell and an inner vent opening in the inner wall surface of the shell. The plug includes a resilient lower surface and an upper surface opposite the resilient lower surface. The resilient lower surface has a lower peripheral lip that compresses when the plug is pushed through the outer vent opening and the inner vent opening and that subsequently expands after the lower peripheral lip passes through the inner vent opening so that the lower peripheral lip engages a portion of the inner wall surface of the shell. The upper surface has an upper peripheral lip configured to conform to a portion of the outer wall surface of the shell when the plug is inserted in the vent.

  • Publication number: 20180314050
Abstract: A system and method for introducing a display image into an afocal optics device through an objective lens and without using a beamsplitter. A display device emits the image in a first direction, a focusing lens focuses the image, and a first reflector redirects the image in a second direction. A second reflector redirects the image through a periphery of the lens so that both the image and gathered light received from a target appears on the same focal plane such that the image appears to a user to be located between the lens and the target. The periphery of the objective lens may be a distance which is no more than 30% of a diameter of the lens from an edge of the lens. If the optics device is a rifle scope, the image may communicate such relevant information as range, inclination, wind direction or velocity, or temperature.

  • Patent number: 10041763
Abstract: A multi-function gunsight for aiming a firearm comprises a body and a sight arm pivotally coupled to the body for rotation between a stowed orientation and a deployed orientation. The body defining a laser cavity, a starboard cavity, and a port cavity. A laser housing is disposed inside the laser cavity defined by the body. The laser housing supports a semiconductor chip that emits laser light and a collimating lens that collimates the laser light emitted by the semiconductor chip. A forward end of the laser housing is coupled to a spherical bearing. The spherical bearing constrains movement of the laser housing in three translation degrees of freedom corresponding to translation along x, y, and z axes of an x-y-z coordinate system. The spherical bearing allows rotation of the laser housing about at least the x and y axes of the x-y-z coordinate system.

  • Patent number: 9228790
Abstract: A gun barrel cleaning device comprises a weight, a cord, a boreguide sleeve, a sheath, a brush, a cleaning element, and a lubrication element. The weight provides a mass that helps to insert the device into the barrel of a gun. The weight may be coupled to the high tensile strength cord, which in turn may be coupled to the tubular sheath. The boreguide sleeve may cover the sheath where it is coupled to the cord to smooth the transition from the cord to the sheath. The brush may be connected to the cord and encased by the sheath. The cleaning element, also encased by the sheath, may remove dirt from the gun barrel. The lubrication element, coupled to the sheath, may deposit lubrication in the gun barrel. The gun barrel may be cleaned and lubricated by pulling the device through the barrel.
