  • Patent number: 10290008
Abstract: A system includes a server that implements a governing logic component and a production component. When implementing an evaluation service, the production component obtains time-dependent metric data that comprises market reference data for one or more items in the marketplace having attributes that are responsive to attributes identified for a target item. The production component discovers at least one relationship comprising a difference for a responsive marketplace item and the target item, which enables the governing logic component to contextually define context-specific instructions for adapting the market reference data for the differing marketplace item. At least one adjustment value applied to the market reference data for the responsive marketplace item automatically transforms the market reference data into normalized metric data for the target item, and produces, for the target item, one or more metrics that pertain to the evaluation service, using, at least in part, the normalized metric data.

  • Patent number: 10262307
Abstract: A system includes a server that implements a governing logic component and a production component. The server receives or retrieves a transaction data set that identifies price data for an item. The production component obtains time-dependent metric data that includes market reference price data for one or more responsive items possessing attributes that are responsive to attributes defined for a respective item in the transaction data set. The production component discovers relationships in the attribute data, which enables the governing logic component to define transaction-specific instructions for adapting the market reference price data for the respective item. An adjustment value transforms the market reference price data and produces transaction-specific market price data values for the respective item. One or more evaluation measures are generated and exposed to at least one computing device in communication with the server.

  • Patent number: 10055719
Abstract: A system includes a server that implements a metric server adapter and a metrics application. The server receives a user-agent configured product specification data set that identifies an item or items having attributes which causes the metrics application to obtain time-dependent metric data. The metric data includes reference data for one or more responsive items responsive to a respective item in the product specification data set. The metrics application dynamically discovers differences in the attribute data, which enables the metric server adapter to define context-specific instructions for adapting the metric data for the respective item. An adjustment value applied to the reference data transforms the reference data and produces context-specific reference data for the respective item. One or more user interfaces expose the context-specific reference data values produced for the user-agent configured product specification data set to at least a client computing device associated with the user-agent.

  • Patent number: 9904913
Abstract: A system includes a server that implements a metric server adapter and a metrics application. The server receives or retrieves a first data set that identifies an item or items having a set of attributes and causes the server to implement an evaluation service. The metrics application obtains time-dependent metric data that includes reference data for one or more items responsive to an item identified in the first data set. The metrics application dynamically discovers differences in the attribute data which enables the metric server adapter to define context-specific instructions for adapting the metric data for the respective item. An adjustment value applied to the reference data transforms the reference data and produces context-specific reference data for the respective item. An evaluation metric is generated according to one or more predefined algorithms. At least a subset of the context-specific reference data is automatically input into the algorithms to generate the evaluation metric.

  • Patent number: 9754244
Abstract: A system includes a remotely-located server that implements components including metric server adapter and a metrics application. The metric server adapter manages governing logic of an evaluation service and predefined instructions that pertain to the evaluation service and/or data used to provide the evaluation service. The metrics application executes the evaluation service in coordination with the metric server adapter. The remotely-located server receives or retrieves a transaction data set. The metrics application obtains time-dependent metric data including market reference price data for one or more responsive items. The metrics application dynamically discovers a difference in the attribute data and the metric server adapter contextually defines transaction-specific instructions for adapting the metric data. • Patent number: 9710856
Abstract: A system includes at least one server that implements a metric server adapter and a metrics application. The metric server adapter includes governing logic that manages an evaluation service and predefined instructions and/or data used to provide the evaluation service. The metrics application executes the evaluation service in coordination with the metric server adapter. The server receives or retrieves price data sets, at least one of which represents an unequal offer. The metrics application obtains time-dependent metric data including market reference price data for one or more responsive items, dynamically discovers a difference in the attribute data, and defines offer-specific instructions for adapting the metric data. One or more adjustment values applied to the market reference price data transforms the market reference price data. A comparative metric comprising a differential ratio or index value compares the price data in the offer with the offer-specific market reference price data values.

  • Patent number: 8762258
Abstract: Methods and computer storage media provide for evaluating the market value of items. A product specification data set identifies an item defined by two or more parameters, or items that differ in accordance with at least one parameter. For at least one item, transaction data sets that include previously-exposed transaction data between buyers and sellers are obtained. The transaction data represents market reference price data of a particular period of time. The market reference price data is adapted by applying one or more pre-defined rules, variables, or criteria operably associated with the item, a parameter of the item, and/or the one or more databases, to the market reference price data, transforming the transaction data sets into normalized market price data sets that are used to calculate a market value for the item, and communicate the market value to an output. In additional embodiments, price data sets are received and evaluated.

  • Patent number: 8700521
Abstract: To disaggregate a single combined price of a bundled product, a computer receives a price data set comprised of component parts that correspond to the component parts of the bundled product. At least one component part differs in accordance with at least one parameter value of another component part. A price for a component part is calculated by obtaining metric data that includes one or more market reference prices responsive to the component part. Using the metric data, a market value is computed for each component part and the computed market values are summed to compute a market value total. A proportional value for at least one component part is generated by dividing the market value of the component part by the market value total. A price for the component part is calculated by multiplying the price data set's single combined price by the component part's proportional value.

  • Patent number: 8635139
Abstract: A computer-readable storage medium contains instructions that cause one or more computing devices to receive a product specification data set identifying one or more items, and price data sets that include one or more items and corresponding price data. For each price data set, metric data is obtained which includes one or more market reference prices for the items in the price data set. A market value of the items is calculated for comparison to the price data in the price data set. The instructions may also cause the one or more computing devices to compare the price data in the price data set to the calculated market value to generate a comparison value. In another embodiment, metric data is obtained for each item in a product specification data set, and a market value of each item is calculated for comparison to the price data in the price data sets.
