  • Patent number: 4723722
Abstract: A device for transferring bobbins of yarn from a bobbin container to a bobbin receptacle on a spooling frame where the yarn is "refined" by cutting out bad spots, has slide gate units (13, 14) that are divided into slide gate unit halves. On the basis of a control system that comprises in particular an optical monitoring device (40, 41, and 42, 43), a given row of bobbins are transferred by a box slide from the bobbin container to the slide gate units (13, 14) or sliding gate unit halves. In two steps they fall from there onto a pair of cross-conveyors (11, 12) that operate in opposite directions. Each cross-conveyor is associated with a righting chute (10). A bobbin that is on the outside by-passes the cross-conveyor and falls directly onto the righting chute, while the others are transferred, at intervals, to the righting chute, as it is emptied.

  • Patent number: 4722487
Abstract: In order to transfer the starting end (11) of a thread on a bobbin (1) or cop inserted in a bobbin holder (5) of a spooling frame (4), automatically from the bobbin (1) to a suction hole (3) of the spooling frame (4), a pneumatically operated conveyor device is used. The basic component of this device is a suction member (13) with a suction duct (14) formed of a pair of openable plates (26) and (27), and that can be moved as a unit forward and back in the direction of the axis of the bobbin. Its centering funnel (17) is positioned over the free opening (12) of the bobbin in which the starting end (11) of the thread has previously been tucked. By suction or aspirating compressed air, the starting end of the thread is sucked out of the core and into the suction hole (3). To release the thread connection thus created from bobbin opening (12) to suction opening (3), the suction duct (14) is opened by means of its openable plates (26) and (27).

  • Patent number: 4399649
Abstract: A spinning flyer comprises a rotatable flyer having spaced apart substantially parallel flyer arms with a central web portion. A head projects outwardly from the web portion in an opposite direction from the arms and a twist crown is slidably engageable over the head. The twist crown is nevertheless inhibited from removal from the head by a securing member in the form of an O-ring or similar elastic member engageable between the twist crown and the head.

  • Patent number: 4170283
Abstract: A device for the non-reversed setting up of rod shaped bodies having ends of different thicknesses and particularly for orienting conical tubes for yarn spinning and twisting machines comprises a feed chute along which the bodies are fed with their sides adjacent and with their ends generally aligned. The feed chute includes an opening in which there are disposed two spaced apart supports oriented adjacent the respective ends of the tubes which are fed one after the other into the opening. Two pressing fingers are mounted so that they move through a path overlying the respective ends of the tubes simultaneously in a manner such that one of them only will contact the thicker end of the tube to begin moving it downwardly over the associated support.
