  • Patent number: 7621989
Abstract: A pleatable filter structure for use in a filter panel, containing ion exchange particles distributed within a fibrous framework is expanded to contain enough space to allow the ion exchange particles to swell or to be in a swelled state as compared to dry ion exchange particles, without additional expansion of the filter structure. A method of manufacturing the filter structure involves subjecting the filter structure to a moisture treatment in which it is exposed to a humid or water containing environment, whereby the ion exchange particles swell and cause a permanent expansion of the filter structure.

  • Publication number: 20090217820
Abstract: A cleanable filter for particulate material, includes a zigzag pleated filter pack, spacers disposed between the pleats in the filter pack and a frame having an upper and lower part covering the respective upper and lower side of the filter pack that contains the ends of the fold lines and two lateral parts covering the opposite sides of the filter pack that contains the ends of the filter medium zigzag folded into a filter pack, the frame thereby leaving the opposite sides of the filter pack that contains alternate fold lines of the pleated filter pack, free for the passage of air. The filter medium in the filter pack includes a pleated sheet of polytetrafluorethylene and the spacers between the pleats consist of corrugated aluminum foils. An earthing element furthermore electrically connects the aluminum foils to each other and to an earth connection on the outside of the filter frame.

  • Publication number: 20080086995
Abstract: The present invention relates to an air filter unit (1) having the shape of a tube comprising a top plate (6), having an air inlet (7) leading into the interior of the tube, whereby the top plate (6) includes fasteners (13) for removably attaching said air filter unit to a wall (2) so that the air inlet of the top plate is concentrically disposed in relation to an opening in said wall, and a sealing ring (14,15) of a resilient material surrounding the air inlet in the top plate. According to the present invention, the top plate (6) includes at least one protrusion (16) on the side thereof facing said wall (2) in use, the height of said protrusion (16) being less than the distance with which the sealing ring (14,15), when not subjected to load, projects out from the surface of the top plate.

  • Patent number: 7261818
Abstract: A filter is made by the folding of a filter media to pleats after the application of strings of glue thereon and the glue serves as distance elements and fixing for the filter media. The glue contains an expandable filler, that when heated expands to a larger size that is then permanent. When the glue has set the filter is heated and the filler expands and expands the filter pleats.

  • Patent number: 7051534
Abstract: Arrangement at a gas turbine installation for the generating of electricity, where inlet air filter housing, bleed air outlet and inlet for the vent air to the turbine housing are integrated into two units, an upper filter housing and a lower intermediate housing connected to the turbine housing. The lower intermediate housing includes a silencer for the inlet air that at the same time connects the filter housing with the turbine inlet. The compressor bleed air system is divided into two parts, one in the intermediate housing and one extending through the filter housing. The vent air for the turbine housing is drawn in through an end wall of the filter housing and down into the turbine housing through separate spaces surrounding the compressor bleed ducting in the filter and intermediate housings.

  • Patent number: 6699348
Abstract: A method for the fabrication of a filter in a frame where a pre-formed pleated filter matrix is inserted into an injection mold tool. Then a suitable elastic thermoplastic material is injected into the tool. The amount of elastic thermoplastic material injected is less than the available space between the filter matrix and the tool so that the pressure will rapidly drop as the material flows from the point of injection.

  • Patent number: 6176890
Abstract: Filter for air and intended for use in wet environment of folded filter material (1) that is held together by glue strips (2,3) on the front and rear side of the filter material. The glue strings on the front side of the filter are interrupted at the bottom of the folds turned forwards so that transport channels (4) for water (5) are obtained at each forwards turned fold. Furthermore the filter folds are oriented vertically to facilitate for the water to run off.

  • Patent number: 5071555
Abstract: An air filter comprising a sheet of filter material folded in a zig-zag configuration. A hardenable material is dispensed in a flowable state onto the sheet. The hardenable material has a varying thickness such that upon hardening, it holds the folds of the sheet apart in a selected orientation. The hardenable material may comprise glue to also secure the folds together. An air penetrable sheet can be secured to the fold edges at one or both sides of the filter.
