Patent number: 8133310Abstract: Embodiments of the invention generally provide an apparatus and method for certifying a filter in a containment system without decontaminating the containment system prior to certification. The apparatus generally comprises a valve assembly selectable between at least three operational states. A first state prevents flow from prevents flow through a port of a housing. A second state fluidly couples the port to test equipment necessary to test a filter disposed within the housing. A third state seals the port but fluidly couples the test equipment to a decontamination system.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2011Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Camfil Farr, Inc.Inventors: Mark Huza, Thomas C. Patent number: 8062402Abstract: Embodiments of the invention generally provide a frame assembly having an integral holding frame/clamp. The frame assembly is typically mounted in a housing of an air handler or other air moving conduit. The holding frame/clamp is coupled to the frame assembly by a hinge. The holding frame/lamp is configured to retain a prefilter. When the holding frame/clamp is to a closed position, the holding frame/clamp urges a final filter sealingly against the frame assembly. The clamp holding frame/clamp is maintained in the closed position by a latch. The latch facilitates removal and replacement of the final ter rapidly without tools, thereby substantially reducing the expense associated with filter change out.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2007Date of Patent: November 22, 2011Assignee: Camfil Farr, Inc.Inventors: Larry E. Patent number: 7722699Abstract: An adaptable dual direction, differential pressure assembly is disclosed. Solenoid valves release controlled bursts of air into a top of a container. A rate of the controlled bursts of air is partially responsive to a pressure differential between atmospheric pressure and that of compressed air in the reservoir. A pleated filter is fitted inside of the container. The pleated filter has an inner wall and an outer wall and has pleatings separated using hot melt glue beads there between. The controlled bursts of air are programmed to be substantially automatically responsive to one or more pressure differentials between an inner wall and an outer wall. In one embodiment, air is drawn from the blower through the pleated filter from the inner wall to the outer wall until a desired pressure differential is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2008Date of Patent: May 25, 2010Assignee: Camfil Farr, Inc.Inventors: Lee Pendleton Morgan, Jan Eric Larson
