  • Patent number: 11598700
Abstract: In one aspect of the present disclosure, a tissue marking system is provided that includes a container and an applicator. The applicator is in the container and is removable therefrom. The applicator includes a tip, a reservoir containing sterile tissue marking dye, and a valve. The valve is configured to open and permit sterile tissue marking dye to flow from the reservoir to the tip of the applicator in response to the tip being pressed against a priming surface. In one embodiment, the system includes a substrate that is removable from the container and includes the priming surface. In another embodiment, the container includes a tray having a compartment that receives the applicator. The tray includes a well that includes the priming surface.

  • Publication number: 20210318298
Abstract: Disclosed is a covalently-linked multilayered three-dimensional matrix comprising capture molecules, linkers and spacers (referred to as a Molecular Net) for specific and sensitive analyte capture from a sample. Also disclosed herein is a Molecular Net comprising covalently-linked multilayered three-dimensional matrix comprising more than one type of capture molecule and more than one type of linker and may comprise one or more spacer for specific and sensitive capture of more than one type of analyte from a sample. A Molecular Net may comprise a pseudorandom nature. Use of various capture molecules, linkers and spacers in a Molecular Net may confer unique binding properties to a Molecular Net. Porosity, binding affinity, size exclusion abilities, filtration abilities, concentration abilities and signal amplification abilities of a Molecular Net may be varied and depend on the nature of components used in its fabrication.

  • Patent number: 9880156
Abstract: Information on cytokines and cytology obtained from a biological specimen are combined as a method of predicting the risk that dysplasia will progress to cancer. Methods are disclosed herein to augment the evaluation of biological samples from subjects being tested for cancer. In addition to the cell types that are traditionally considered in the morphology-based cytological screening of specimens, methods disclosed herein add evaluations of certain cell types and cytokines that are traditionally discounted or ignored during screening.

  • Patent number: 5024238
Abstract: An apparatus for testing biological molecular indicators in blood comprising a tubular container, and a sample compartmentalized container holding labelled ligands and beads with immobilized ligands. Blood is collected in the tubular container under pressure to flow through the sample compartmentalized container which screens off the red blood cells so that enzymes of the labelled ligands are carried by the blood fluid to a reactant solution which is colored by specific labelled ligands to indicate the presence of specific ligands.

  • Patent number: 4961432
Abstract: An apparatus for collecting biological fluids and handling the same into a sample for testing comprising a tubular container having open ends, one of which is removably secured to a collection storage unit. A shuttle assembly constructed of a cylindrical hollow piston defining a chamber, a top cover covering one end of said piston and a second cover with an aperture and a connector covering the second end of the piston is slidably mounted in the tubular container. An "O" ring is mounted on the exterior surface of the piston to form a fluid tight seal between the "O" ring and the interior surface of the tubular container with the connector being removably secured to a resin/sample container so that movement of the piston in the tubular container carries the resin/sample container into the collection storage unit and forces fluid collected in the tubular container to flow through the resin/sample container.

  • Patent number: 4953561
Abstract: An apparatus for testing biological molecular indicators in urine comprising a tubular container, and a sample container holding beads with immobilized ligands. Urine is transported through the tubular container under pressure to flow through the sample container which screens off the antibodies so that antigens of the carried by the urine fluid are collected and concentrated on the beads.

  • Patent number: 4912057
Abstract: A chemotaxis assay instrument comprising a plate assembly with a bottom plate, a gasket seal mounted to the bottom plate and an intermediate plate mounted on the other side of the gasket seal and spaced by the gasket seal from the bottom plate. The intermediate plate defines a plurality of wells to hold a sample and a filter membrane is mounted on the intermediate plate. A second intermediate plate is spaced from the first intermediate plate by the filter membrane and second gasket seal is mounted on the other side of the second intermediate plate with a top plate mounted on said second gasket seal and spaced by the second gasket seal from the second intermediate plate, the plate assembly being held together by fasteners in a sealed relationship.
