Patent number: 11244373Abstract: Systems and methods for guided vehicle matching are disclosed. In order to generate vehicle recommendations for a user of an electronic vehicle listing service, a plurality of vehicle-related lifestyle options are presented to the user, and a user selection received. Additional data regarding the user's vehicle preferences, requirements, or usage may be obtained. Based upon such information, a set of example vehicles is generated and presented to the user. Each example vehicle has characteristics representing a plurality of other vehicles. Based upon user ratings or selections of at least some of the example vehicles, a plurality of vehicle recommendations for specific available vehicles are generated and presented to the user. In some embodiments, further user interaction with such recommendations is used to refine the vehicle recommendations and identify additional vehicle recommendations.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2019Date of Patent: February 8, 2022Assignee: CARS.COM, LLCInventors: Barbara August, Leena Ansari, Bree J. Patent number: 11093975Abstract: Systems and methods for personalizing electronic messages for users based upon determining user mobile device location data indicating user locations within an area of interest are disclosed. User geospatial location data is obtained at user mobile devices upon the triggering event of a user action (e.g., visiting a web site or using an application on the user mobile device). The location data is stored and compared against map data accurately and precisely defining a map area of the area of interest, such as a vehicle dealer lot. A user data sheet is generated to store information regarding the user location and time at the area of interest. The user data sheet may include a user status identifier based upon elapsed time since the user was at the area of interest. Personalized messages are then generated and transmitted to the user based upon the information in the user data sheet.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2017Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: CARS.COM, LLCInventors: Joe Oliveri, Ben Stark, Anthony Arguelles, Balaaji Parthasarathy, Crispina Chong, Joe Grosspietch, Michael Dehner, Roger Kurth, Jim Cissell, Sainaga Srikantham, Mike Costa, Larry Vance

Patent number: 9906906Abstract: Systems and methods for distinguishing between user mobile device location data indicating user locations within an area of interest or merely near an area of interest are disclosed. User geospatial location data is obtained at user mobile devices (e.g., smartphones) upon the triggering event of a user action (e.g., visiting a web site or using an application on the user mobile device). The location data is stored and compared against polygonal map data accurately and precisely defining a map area of the area of interest. A map view may be generated by generating markers having different styles for user location data within or near the area of interest, which markers may then be overlaid on a map including a polygon representation of the area of interest. Such map view may be augmented by additional data and presented as a report including location and additional data for a plurality of users.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2017Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Assignee: CARS.COM, LLCInventors: Jennifer Lou Chae Pecard, Guy Jeffrey Bloomfield, Benjamin Mitchell Cohen, Ramesh Jankampet
