Abstract: An apparatus for killing insects, the apparatus including one or more host targets for attracting flying insects using one or a combination of ultraviolet light, halogen light, heat, and chemical sensory emissions attractive to flying insects; upper and lower housings connected in a manner to establish a vertical separation to accommodate an air column open to the atmosphere; and one or more insect capture assemblies located to receive the air current having a mesh or other means dimensioned to separate insects from the air current of the air column.
