Patent number: 7383855Abstract: A combination pressure relief and vacuum relief valve for mounting on a storage tank is disclosed as having two vertical mounting connections of different elevations; a pressure relief valve mounted on one connection; and a vacuum relief valve mounted on the other connection such that said vacuum relief valve is higher in elevation than said pressure relief valve. The valve is sanitary for use in food and pharmaceutical production and storage and has highly polished surfaces to prevent processed material from sticking. The valve also includes special sloping surfaces in the body and connections to prevent processed material from standing in the valves. The pressure valve and vacuum valve may be removed separately or rotated separately for mounting. The combination valve may be attached on storage tanks or other vessels or conduits.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2005Date of Patent: June 10, 2008Assignee: Cashco, Inc.Inventors: Clint M. Patent number: 5290010Abstract: A multiple thrust range, live loaded packing system for stems and shafts extending into a packing chamber containing a packing ring, and a packing gland engaging the ring and having an outer end portion projecting outwardly of the chamber includes a first thrust member engaging an outer end portion of the gland and a second thrust member spaced from and facing the first thrust member. A spring is mounted between the thrust members for normally biasing the thrust members apart and a spacer is mounted between the thrust members around the spring for establishing a minimum spacing distance between the thrust members. One or more tension members extend between the thrust members to secure the thrust members against the spacer for exerting a selected live load on the packing gland via the spacer, the spring and the first thrust member.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1993Date of Patent: March 1, 1994Assignee: Cashco, Inc.Inventor: William A. Patent number: 5288052Abstract: The self-draining sanitary control valve includes a body having an inlet and an outlet and a fluid control port forming a valve seat between the inlet and the outlet. A bonnet is detachably secured to the body having a stem receiving bore aligned on a common central axis with the control port. Clamping rings are provided for securably clamping the body and bonnet together and for securing the valve body to adjacent fluid lines. The clamping rings are readily detachable for permitting the valve to be cleaned and the interior surfaces of the valve are closed to provide for self-draining of the fluid contained therein. The valve includes a stem slidably mounted in the bore with a valve plug at one end having a predetermined outer surface profile movable toward and away from the port and a flexible diaphragm is secured to a central portion of the plug for engaging the valve seat. An outer portion of the diaphragm is clamped between the body and the bonnet when the clamp ring is locked in place.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1992Date of Patent: February 22, 1994Assignee: Cashco, Inc.Inventors: W. Patent number: 5192049Abstract: A dual rated live loaded packing system for a valve stem includes at least one thrust load assembly extending between opposing facing elements on a valve body and a packing gland, respectively, for exerting a live load through a gland onto a packing ring contained in a packing chamber around the stem. The thrust load assembly includes an elongated tension member engaging a first one of the ears at one end and a second of the ears at an opposite end. An adjustable nut is threadedly engaged on the tension member having an end facing a surface on the second ear. A spring element is mounted on the tension member between the nut and the second ear for biasing the nut away from the second ear. A cylindrical spacer is mounted on the tension member enclosing the spring element for setting up a minimum value space between the nut and the second ear.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1992Date of Patent: March 9, 1993Assignee: Cashco, Inc.Inventor: William A. Patent number: 5141022Abstract: A fluid pressure regulating valve apparatus for controlling either upstream or downstream fluid pressure includes a lower housing including a lower interior space and an upper housing including an upper interior space which is separated from the lower space by a deformable diaphragm. The diaphragm and lower space together define a substantially smooth, generally void free fluid receiving cavity with which first and second conduits are connected. The first conduit includes a constriction and the second conduit is angled relative to the first conduit. A valve is provided including a valve closure member movable between flow-permitting and flow-preventing positions. An upper stem element is connected to the diaphragm and extends through the upper interior space to an upper and disposed exterior of the upper housing such that pressure regulation and regulator adjustment may both be carried out from outside the lower housing.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1991Date of Patent: August 25, 1992Assignee: Cashco, IncInventor: W.
