Abstract: Urease is adsorbed in an aqueous environment on a urease retaining material selected from the group comprising aluminum oxide and magnesium silicate and is thereafter insoluble so that when contacted by liquid containing urea, the urea is converted into ammonium carbonate while the urease remains adsorbed on the retaining material.
