Abstract: A process for recovering processing liquids from a feed stream which contains processing fluid, water, and at least one alkaline earth metal cation. The process includes reacting at least one alkaline earth metal cation with a suitable anion to form a substantially water-insoluble salt precipitate, the precipitate being formed in one of a fractionation column having a forced recycle loop or a flash vessel having a forced heated recycle loop.

Abstract: A process for removing acid decomposable contaminants from a processing liquid wherein an acid is admixed with a processing liquid and the mixture of acid and processing liquid are introduced into a degassing vessel such that the gas formed by the reaction of the acids and the decomposable gases is released and a processing liquid freed of acid decomposable contaminants is removed from the degassing vessel.
Abstract: A method of producing a fertilizer composition containing micronized sulphur wherein elemental sulphur is dissolved in anhydrous or hydrous ammonia to form an ammonia/sulphur solution and the ammonia/sulphur solution is reacted with an acidic component having at least one plant growth constituent to simultaneously form a sulphur composition comprising a sulphur compound and micronized sulphur. The thus formed fertilizer composition is dried and can be formed into various shapes such as pellets, prills, etc.

Abstract: A method of producing micronized sulphur wherein elemental sulphur is dissolved in a solvent for sulphur to produce a sulphur-solvent solution and precipitation of the dissolved sulphur is effected or controlled by manipulation of at least one of pressure, temperature or water content in the solvent to produce the micronized sulphur.

Abstract: A process for recovering a processing liquid used in gas purification systems, e.g., to remove greenhouse gases, and containing water, the processing liquid, components having higher and lower boiling points than water and a component less volatile than the processing liquid, wherein the feed mixture is heated and introduced into a first separation zone, a portion of the water and the processing liquid being volatilized to produce a hot vapor stream comprising volatilized water and processing liquid. There is also produced a first residuum stream which contains some of the less volatile components and the unvolatilized portion of the water in the processing liquid. The hot vapor stream is introduced into the separation system forming part of a gas purification system. The majority of the energy in the hot vapor stream is recovered for use in the separation system forming part of the gas purification system.
